hmm, ill probably just go through with buying 4 new 225/40/17's, my friend installs my tires for free at his work, so ill have him toss the 45 series on there, and see how it works on the rear, if theres an issue, i have him swap it out. otherwise ill just have two spare 225/40/17's now

chances are, the only place you are going to rub in the rear is on the strut. Question though: why go with a staggered setup on a front wheel drive car? While our tibs are fairly neutral for a front driver, going with a larger set up in the rear will turn the balance of handling towards understeer.

that was just an idea. im either going to run 225/40/17 nitto 555's, or 215/40/17 falken 711's. just need to decide on which one.

I would lean towards the thinner 215s.
