accent brake swap problems

ok first off for those that know i was doing the swap, its done. it went well but i have some problems. i used 06 lantra front and rear disks, my car had abs so i used the proportioning valve off a non abs lantra, unknown year, i just grabbed one. i kepped my MC at the time, got it all bled out and it worked but with a very soft brake peddel. i mean really soft, so soft i couldnt even lock them up at all. i just got done swapping in the MC of the same lantra i got the rest of my parts from its a 15/16 MC. bled the system, and now there is no peddle. i get about 1/4" of movment and again almost no brakes. soooooo, what did i do. for the life of me i cant figure it out, well really im spent so i havent really tried. if i dont figure something out tonight then i have to go back to the 7/8 MC that was on it and deal with the soft brakes cuz i cant even drive it like this now. anyway any help would be outstanding, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

Really, no one????? Well figured out why the 15/16 MC wouldn't work. It wouldn't seal in the booster. So I fixed that problem and now its working, I have brakes, but again just like with the stock 7/8MC there just isn't any power behind them. They will stop the car but you would think that with dumping the abs, and putting in all will disks from a bigger car they would be nice and strong, but there just not. Could it be the booster? Should I put the lantra booster in also. I guess I just can't see how a booster woud creat that much of a change. Anyway if anyone has any info id be greatful. Thanks.
I dont think anyone has used that combo, so not sure if anyone can give first hand information. One of the more uber tech types may be able to help. Just give them some time to see your thread. Free bump...

Yo Decos, I have bigger calipers up front then you and I think are rears are almost the same and I dont have any issue. I am still using the stock 1.5L booster and MC. The only major difference is that I never had ABS, this may have something to do with it, maybe the brake boosters are different from ABS to none ABS Accents. Also just so we know what steps did you take to bleed the brakes, i messed mine up the first time and had almost no brakes like you described.

thanks guys for the posts. i did the standered start at the far work your way to the front. when i swapped the MC i bled it first, then hooked everything up, started at the pass rear, and bled till the fluid was free of air. then i moved to the driver side rear, same thing, then to pass front, and last the driver front. i even whent back 6 hors later and bled a few more pumps just to be sre ther wasnt any more air in the line. as for the
mc i really didnt think i shold have needed the bigger MC because its not really that much bigger, but here i am, with soft brakes. its kinda lame but im sure ill figure it out. as for the abs, i am stuck with a 2 port MC, that feeds a lantra proportioning valve. maybe i have the lines hooked up wrong, maybe a lantra guy could help me with this, i have the port closest to the booster, I think its "s" going to the right side of the valve, that feeds the driver side front and back. then i have the port on the end of the mc, "P" i think, going to the left side of the valve feeding pass side front and rear. i dont know if that is right, should be cuz its how i took the brakes off it.

booster is still in stock place on intake manny, and no the abs module is no longer in line. i pulled all lines off it, and ran them to the proportioning valve. its so crazy to me really.... i really thought the stock mc would be good, then when it was sofft i figred oh well just change it, and shure enough its the same. is there anyway to adjust the proportioning valve. there lookis to be a way to do so from the under side of it, but i have yet to mess with it.

If the proportioning valve is for a different setup (disk/drum vs disk/disk) then you might have a problem with that. Really the first thing I would go for with a soft pedal is air in the lines or (less likely) bad booster.

It's more than likely either:
Air in the lines
Bad booster
Or an issue with the ABS system
I'm concerned that something might be different with the ABS braking system vs. non ABS. I would be inclined to remove the ABS system completely if it is hooked to the MC, booster, or brakes in any way. I would not want it involved with my braking whatsoever at this point. That may require running lines from a non-ABS car or modifying the stock lines significantly.
You might be able to look at replacement parts catalogs to see what interchanges. The MC or booster might be ABS specific and that might cause some issue.
