The LC and LC2 calipers will bolt up to your knuckle. 187sks Edit: Nope, bad info.



There are a lot of LC's in the junkyard. Disposable car. Probably more than X3's, most of which were disposed of long ago by now. I almost never see an X3 on the road, and LCs are getting rarer.



The base model LC/LC2 had 13's from the factory so they will fit.

 

Hmm, so I will just need to get a rotor that is smaller in diameter.

The LC calipers will NOT bolt up to the RD knuckles.



The bolt pattern of the LC was 1/2" wider. Also, the caliper sits much closer to the hub. It seems that the "swap" for the Accents requires the knuckles from an RD/J2 to do this swap. That I was not expecting or hoping for since it's not an easy swap.

 

I'm really sorry that I led you astray on this. I found a writeup that made it sound like the exact reverse of this was done. Edited above post to remove incorrect info.



After doing a bunch of deeper digging it seems that your suspicions are correct, you would need to swap over to an Accent knuckle.

 

Swap the LC,you already have the calipers.

 

If I did that, then I would have 4x100 lug pattern on the front. My current wheels won't fit and I'd be driving around with crappy brakes on the street.





All of this was so that I can run a 1" wider slick with 1" more sidewall at the track. It would make a difference, but not enough to warrant the hassle.

Do you have a picture from the back showing the bracket and hub? There is a couple of ways to "fix" the issue. You could make a bracket. Cardboard templates are your friend. lol

 

id go to the junkyard and try and pickup some x3 calipers.



then try and find some rotors that will fit, im sure theres an application that will work.

you need:

242mm outer diameter, 19mm nominal thickness, 17mm minimal thickness, 45.67 height, 12.7 bolt size and 69mm hub size in a floater rotor.

one think you may consider: the nissan sentra (2000-06, 1.8L) has a setup that just might work, you might look into seeing if the entire brake setup might be adapted with a custom bracket or something. one issue i see is the rotor hub is a different size but a quick trip to the lathe should fix that.
