1.4" lowering springs
I have 17" rims with 40 series tires on my 98 Tib. My springs have been heated to lower my car but i want to put a new suspension on it. Sharkracing sells a kit with 1.4" drop springs and dampers that i want to get. I am just worried that 1.4" drop won't be enough. Does anyone have some pics of a setup like this, the main thing i am worried about is the space between the wheel well and the wheels, i want it to look good. Thanks.
1st of all...shame on you for heating your springs! thats the biggest "no go"!....and 2nd...it really depends on what your looking for...i have H&R 1.6 drop and the car sits perfect...no gap between the wheel and the fender! they also have a 2.0 drop but then you have to worry about rubbing, new shocks bla bla bla! but its your money! best for the buck...eibachi or H&R!
ok, your main worry is that the 1.4" drop won't be enough. i'm not a suspension expert, but i know enough to tell you that you need to worry about the rest of your suspension when you do a drop. your camber, alignment, and the whole geometry is going to change, as well as the life of your struts. get new stuts with the springs, and you'll be on the right track. believe me, the more you research modifying your tib, the more you'll realize that you need to research more. ask shadohh, red, random, me (hence, my sig. i just haven't made a name for myself, but it'll happen).
