Not sure of the accuracy, but these are off-lease Audis destined for the crusher, with the rationale that it props up used car prices and spare parts prices.
I suppose on paper this works, as restricting supply of second-hand Audis (boosting resale) means their lease rates might be lower due to higher residual value. Preventing the cars from becoming future parts cars is another thing I would have never thought of, hopefully Ferrari never thinks of this and all their new cars are lease-only
This may work for Audi, until it doesn't. Would still love to see the actual business case where the net value for Audi is higher to destroy the cars than resell them.
