i agree this genesis coupe will be the next best tuner car out their, even the non hyundai people will take notice of the genesis, but i keep hearing the same thing from people. That the genesis turbo coupe comes with the evo 10, 4b11 motor, and that it was de-tuned by hyundai to 212-20hp so customers would buy the v6 other than the turbo 4 cylinder.

not close. uses the same block, thats all.

different turbo, different head, etc.

Detuned?

LOL

No. if they didn't want to sell the I4, they wouldn't have made it. The I4 was made to give tuners and enthusiasts more options and space to modify. Hyundai stated this themselves.

The Theta is also 2.0, not 2.2 or 2.4 as some of the other World Engines.

I would imagine that the "detuning" admitted or not was to boost the MPG and reliability. Remember, not too long aqo most of us were paying almost $4.50/gal for fuel.

But just being realistic, who is going to buy one of these NOT to play, even if just a little?

It's not detuned. the used a small, cheap, and supposedly reliable turbo. Small boost numbers from the factory let them keep a good warranty on the car.

I just keep thinking about how much fun it'll be to add power to this beast when you want.

relax at what. im not worked up, just saying its not low boost.. not even just to your statement, but to the original information that hyundai gave to the consumers about running a efficient, low boost setup because they wanted to balance things, when in fact, they are running high boost.
