Wow, not only is that guy annoying, he's also a little mis-informed / left out some of the story. Nothing is 100% YET.

Since the Toyobaru triplets — BRZ, FR-S , and GT86 — debuted for the 2013 model year, the relationship between Toyota and Fuji Heavy Industries, the company that owns Subaru and that Toyota owns a minority share of, has been stressed. Toyota seems ready to move the GT86 forward to a new level of the sport car realm, while Subaru has essentially sat back and said "we build it, so you can’t make any changes unless we allow it." Now a new report from Drive claims that Toyota may take its ball and go home, leaving Suby with no choice but to discontinue the BRZ.
This report stems from a conversation with Toyota chief engineer, Tetsuya Tada, who said that the next-generation 86 could be the brainchild of the BMW BMW -Toyota team up that is already under way. This would not only lead to the almost certain demise of the BRZ, but it would also result in a far more extreme GT86 and FR-S — if the latter is part of the 86 program in the next generation.

They're talking about the gen2 BRZ. In fact, they even mention that the f/l is getting a bigger boxer (ie: 2.5L EJ257?) and improved exhaust (the long awaited turbo STI edition?) There's been plenty of rumors floating about, and the BRZ has steadily fallen in sales, so releasing a boosted STI model only makes sense to revive the market. Plus if that really takes off there's no reason to think that the BRZ model won't continue past g1. I know my biggest issue was the NA boxer felt like a slug. Especially compared to the 2014 WRX and STI. If given the WRX 2.5L and gear ratio (but keep it rwd) the sales would go through the roof! The 6 speed on the STI makes that chassis much more tame, but the BRZ on the other hand needs to be a little insane at times. Mate that motor and trans, and you'll have a monster of a car.
All this said was that BMW and Toyota are working on the next gen GT86.
Seems like a lot of misplaced speculation.
