All Base model RSX's are 5-speeds, and the Type-S are 6-speeds if I remember correctly.

The last time I drove one was a good while ago at the track... considering I'm not use to revving an engine that high, I ran a 14.3. And that was with an easy launch and not shifting as well as I wanted. The actual owner ran 13.9 with I/E. They are very fast cars when driven properly. But like is seen with Tibs, they're are huge gaps in times. At the high-end stock some people run flat 16s, some people run as high as 16.7s with a manual. And Tibs are very easy to drive.

Yeah, thats right, let me put it in bold for you: OWN A TIB. Wait, let me say it again... OWN A TIB. Now, I know why you guys dont want to admit this, beause 95% of the people on here hate hondas....thats fine, just dont act like morons when you start to realize 1/2 there cars are faster than tibs

Sorry, it sais 14.9 so high 14s...oh well, still, whats a rd? even if you have a good driver like HIGH 15's or so? or over 16? And....you wanna count a AUTO tib....wow.... i cant count that high.

Yeah, vipers arent that fast if you havent noticed...there are plentey of cars out there what can beat it stock, and for half tyhe price....Supra to name one..

QUOTE (AEMTIB01 @ Apr 18 2005, 04:15 AM)
mk3 design seems like an upset honda owner lol..jk with ya man..but hey beating him is possible..like they said..its all about driver

Um.... I guess I am, ohwell....

About the driver? in this situation, from a roll...all he has to do is have it in the right gear and press down on the gas, not much too it, i thin a bad driver could figure that one out..

I am going to go along w/MK3 here. I love the RSX, when I bought my Tiburon I was looking at one but they wanted more than I could afford (16k for RSX Type S vs. 10k for 2k1 Tiburon). Either the RSX and a lot of other cars out there ARE FASTER than the Tiburon. I love my Tiburon, but I also appreciate speed no matter what car has it.

I've driven an RSX type S this weekend. My friend owns one. Yes, it is a 6 speed.

From what I could tell, the car is a little bit faster than the tib and has short gears. When Vtec kicks in, there is no comparison, it just takes off. Also, it revs to about 7.8k (power is at a higher RPM).

The other thing is that the RSX type S comes stock with terrible tires. That could have a lot to do with the cornering.

The driver must not have hit vtec (the type S is geared so that you can stay in vtec if you shift right before redline).

Also, if I remember correctly, the motor in the type S is the same as the honda 2000 (or at leist the head is the same), so I don't think you were racing a type S tongue.gif
