I got to say that I don't categorize "Hondas" as rice in general...the reason I hate the civic with a passion is because it is a "me2" car. And by that I mean...
Scene takes place outside of a movie theater on a Friday night where the weekly neon festival of import rice congregates:
Ricer boy 1: "I have my car at home right now but my girlfriend drove me up here to check out some ideas. I like the fact that you have everything covered in neons."
Ricer boy 2: "Oh yea? What kind of car do YOU drive?"
Ricer boy 1: "I drive a Honda Civic."
Ricer boys 2 through 94890598478392: "ME TOO!"
That's why I hate on civics...not because I necessarily dislike every single one, but because it's so played out!

your living in the wrong place then, everyone i know who has a honda has one that will rock the shit outta most of the hyundai's on this board...let's see here just a sample...
k20a (typeRRRRRR) in a base model RSX (use to have his stock engine boosted k20a3T for that engine code)
JDM GSR (in a civic coupe 92-96 body style)
usdm GSR (in a eg style hatch)
LS turbo (a couple people)
LS-VTEC
Type R in a hatch (haven't seen his car in a while i'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's a EK body style)
d-series turbo (a couple people)
B16 turbo
man list goes on....
back home i definately see a lot of rice, but there are still that many nice CLEAN cars.

hey, I have seen riced out fiats... (I know, that is a scary thought) but the problem I have with hondas lies with the owners as well. If you notice, I do not bash other cars.. I can respect anything from a worked 3 cylinder geo up to a v12 Jag and averything in between. if you put blood, sweat, and tears into your ride.. I do not care if it is all go, all show, or somewhere in between.. I am going to give you your due.
It is the ugly pepboys specials that I dislike and make fun of when I see them.
But yes.. the problem with Honda's.. civics in particular is that there are so many of them. They are tough little cars that are cheap to buy and own. The fact that they have an aftermarket to make a chevy guy envious just makes it inevitable that they are the car that is going to get played with. Going by averages.. lets say that one in three "tuners" (I really hate that term) is really a ricer.. you ARE going to see more riced hondas than toyotas, hyundais, mitsubishis, or even Mustangs.
