Ah, nice one man. Well, keeping a cool head and investigating those problems rationally will solve them in no time, and you'll feel great for doing so. Surely there'd be a control arm hanging around the warehouse of rockauto or something.

Make a build thread when you start working on it man!

UPDATE!

Car is currently being worked on / all most ready to go back on the road. Clutch has been replaced, and the starter re-built. Believe it or not, the starter is 99% in-accessible with the transfer case / final drive in place. So when the clutch was being changed we had it tested and re-built. Total time for clutch replacement was 20+ hours. Some of you might think that is ridiculous but considering this is a AWD car and what parts had to be removed to get the trans out, I'm surprised it didn't take longer! Just finishing up a few more things and it will hopefully be on the road this weekend.

A few pics of the work. I ended up not taking too many pics, I was WAY too excited. lol.

IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!

Picked up the RS today. Couldn't get a trip permit yet due to needing an appraisal on the car first!? WTF!? Drove it back to my parents place with the rear plate from my Hyundai anyways. Getting an appraisal on Tuesday then my permit so I can drive it home legally. Then getting it satisfied and e-tested, then plates.

H-O-L-Y C-R-A-P this car is FAST! Boost kicks in at apx 3K RPM and throws you back in the seat. The blow-off valve sounds AWESOME! I had a smile ear to ear driving home. No issues on the ride home other than blowing the silicone coupling off the intake when racing an Infinity G35x! I took off from the light and I guess the guy heard the blow-off valve and decided to race me...... bad idea, I pulled 2 cars on him and let off. LOL!!!!! He looked a little surprised to say the least. I found the gear shift is not super smooth, I will have to check that out, hopefully it just needs to be adjusted. Brakes need to be gone over, there is lots of life left in them but they need to be cleaned up. The front left caliper was sticking a little. The mechanic also found a CV boot with a small crack. He told me to keep an eye on it. That's about it.

Hope to have a few pics and maybe a vid up soon (next week).

That's pretty badass. I like how it says what it has in big font on the trunk lol!

It reminds me a little of a Lancia 037.

Work continues on this car. It's still not saftied yet but I am driving it with the temp tag. People point and stare at this car where ever I go. It might have something to do with the ridiculously loud BOV too????

I found a deal on some rims. TSW R System 17 x 7 w/ 215 40 17 Falken tires. $240 I don't think they were stolen........ I know the wheel gap is CrAzY, coil-overs will be installed soon.

PICS!

The Isuzu has bumped the Hyundai out of the garage.

Update - Car is still not safetied. Time and $$$ has been an issue. I'm having a problem with the brake/tail lights. I was looking to replace both rear tail light wiring harnesses and ended up finding a parts car in the process....... so I bought it. I pick it up Sunday. LOL! There MIGHT be 130 of these cars left on the road (according to US DMV records) and I now own 2 of them.

Parts car ftw

Best and cheapest way to do cars. Also a great reference point for which bolts go where.

So the parts cars was a no go. Pictures I saw were OLD. There wasn't much left of the car and it was falling apart as we were trying to put it on the trailer. It was sitting in a field, floor pretty well gone, clutch was toast, it was missing a motor mount and the motor and trans shifted and looked like it was going to fall out! Did I mention it had mice in it. I don't need parts THAT bad. There is another guy in the club who said he would take it. At least it's out of the field It was a long day with lots of driving for nothing. I got home pretty late and a little pissed off. I logged into the Isuzu club and an old member who happens to live in my city is cleaning out his garage. He's selling a BUNCH of MINT Isuzu parts for decent prices. I'm heading over there on Sunday! The only part(s) I'm still really searching for now is some spare rear hubs/bearings. They DO NOT make new ones and you can not re-build the existing ones so having an extra set would be nice.

On a side note, my Hyundai is no longer for sale. I got sick of dealing with morons! AND I'm thinking about paving over my lawn for more parking spots

I had a '91 XS. It had all of the RS bodywork though. I actually still have a brand new spare hood scoop and black plastic insert for the scoop. I bought them to replace the cracked ones on my car. Car got stolen before I had a chance to install them. Car was 100% pristine except for that.
