So I gave in to the dark side......
A 91 Honda Accord EX 5-speed just landed in my lap last Friday. It runs good just drains batteries like a beast so I'm thinking alternator or alt pulley, plus the front suspension is iffy. Still it's only $100 AND I found a USspec H22(a4) locally for $500. Have spent the better part of the weekend pondering if I should undertake this project; basically I was thinking of H-swapping, fixing the suspension and trying to sell locally at a profit. I have no need for an accord in my collection.
My evil scheme is to:
Sell the current power plant for $100 on the money and make back my funds,
Fix up the suspension back to stock specs, no need to mod what I wont keep.
Do some basic paint and repairs.
Toss is some cheap buckets, crappy rear e-bay wing (rice appeal)
Swap in the H22 and post it in CR as well as local papers.
Still not 100% certain I want the project but I think it's a good way to make a few quick bucks to fix up the Tib and fund MY engine projects.
I know it'll sell locally my only concern is will I get enough for it? I pondered slapping on a cheap ebay turbo and using the time slips to sell, but I doubt I want that liability. Besides, that's a lot of expense for just a high 14 second time.

The problem is I highly doubt I could even turn a profit just fixing it. It's going to be hard to find a buyer in my area wanting a 20 year old car, let alone one that is willing to shell out a grand+. I figure jazzing it up a bit will turn a much higher profit.

Why swap the engine? Waste of time and money.
Why swap suspension? "Iffy" can still sell. Anyone buying a cheap car like that just needs something to get them to the local liquor store and back. Point A to B regardless of suspension.
You could probably get $800 for it if it's clean and looks okay. That's enough profit for me.
Otherwise, painting, engine swap, suspension work = $1,000 + dozens*3 hours
