Chrysler 2.5 Engine Problems
Well, currently use a minivan to haul all my DJ equipment around. I gave it a full tune up two weeks ago and it has been giving me problems ever since!
It has been sputtering and missing, and has left me stranded every night for the past three nights due to it cranking and cranking but not firing. In the morning it starts just fine. I replaced the ignition coil next thinking this might be the problem.
Now, immediately after I replaced that today, it will flat out DIE while driving. It has done this five times in the past two hours. I had to cancel my gig tonight, and I have gigs Saturday and Sunday.
So, as of now, the tune-up includes: plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, and ignition coil.
I am at a complete loss. Any suggestions?

Try putting the old rotor, cap, plugs and wires back on. Seriously.
Put a meter on the new wires: do they measure in-spec?
Are the plugs properly gapped?
Is the new cap cracked?
Is the new rotor the right size? If there are points, are they properly gapped?

^^^ Wish I had kept that stuff.... Learned my lesson. Plugs are properly gapped. Parts are all from Napa. Premium wires, but only 7mm not 8mm (thought that was odd) As far as I can tell, new cap is not cracked. Car has had the "check engine light" since I've driven it, long before this problem. Autozone can't check it, it's too old. They only have the type II and this takes a type I. This is a 1989 with 93,000 miles on it. I was planning on replacing it with a late 90s Chevy Astro AWD with next years taxes, but this pile doesn't look like it will make it that long. mad.gif
Let me tell you that I've had bad luck with napa wires. I changed my Step dads wires on a 92 sentra as part of a tune up and the car will run bad, I put the stock ones back and no problem.
Buy quality parts from auto zone, replace one part at a time, once you figure out what it was, return what you dint need or take back everything you bought from napa.

You're right let me rephrase that, Because at the end, the store does not matter. What i was trying to say is buy some reputable brand. When it comes to electrical stuff. I like BOSH and auto zone sells it
I'll be taking it to pep boys in the morning to look at it. Perhaps before that new wires are in order?
It really seems to be electrical, and bad wires, even though they are NEW PREMIUM wires, could be bad causing my issues. My only other guess is it could be fuel related, like a clogged fuel filter....
