My oldest son goes to middle school next year and will be playing the trumpet for band. I need to obtain a trumpet for him and I honestly do not know what to get. Ebay is full of them, but I know 80% are probably not good enough for daily use by a student. If you know of any good deals or have a quality trumpet for sale please let me know. I need to get it for him before he goes to "band camp" lol....

Um I play trumpet, I'm really good, etc etc.

Ah yes, the old band camp trumpet.

I'd look for an Olds Ambassador. Cheap and pretty good, kind of like the Civic of trumpets.

I'll see if any of my connections have crapper trumpets they can stand to lose.

I too used to play the trumpet, first chair and all, I have a couple. I'll see if my 'rents will let me part with one of them.

I used to play as well. I'd part with it, but the valves are stuck and have been for the past 10 years

Hey, I played trumpet for 8 years! i dont care what ANYONE says, "BAND CAMP ROCKS"!!!! I had a bach stradavarious model 12, (same trumpet used in NY philharmonic was $1200...) but I had a "beginner/starter trumpet before that and its great...i still have it and would LOVE to sell it...its a rare trumpet, not expenisve at all, tricolor design, copper-silver-gold, funny your looking for one cause i found it STILL stitting int the corner of my room for 4-5 years untouched....I picked it up and paled what i could remember, and it still sounds great....i'll post some picutres of it tomorrow, i have 3 mouth pieces, a brand new case used for like a year, and the attchment for marching band music that slips on to the trumpet (handsfree).....its a GREAT trumpet and would really love to pass it along
