Okay, after years of waiting my wife is finally starting school on Tuesday, but we have one hicup.

She's taking a IT class, and the book for it is $60 used, or $175 new. You HAVE to get the NEW version if you don't have Office 2007 (it's a office 2007 class) because it comes with a 3 month free trial.

Now, I don't feel like shelling out $$$ for a new office suite with how little we use 2003 that's already on these PC's.

Anyone got a hookup?

i know we dont condone illegal activity, but discussions on torrents have definitely come up in the past with all members involved and no one said anything. so yeah, look into it.

redz, heres the thing bro. i work at best buy, and the software is price locked by microsoft, meaning even i couldnt touch it. however. microsofts customer service is legendary with them you get pirated software from ebay etc and the person said it was genuine (playing dumb) and acting upset, microsoft sends you ultimite for free. if you dont beleive go check out their things with simple google searches.. all cases, new software for free. . with the 3 computer rule it hampers illegal pirating alot. so what i recommend is the college she is at. probably offers a discount for word 2007 not just a simple one, thing more like 50 bucks for the entire thing "education" discount. the sad part is, the only thing word 2007 does is save in whats called the "xml" format, instead of the original "doc" format. thats bassically it. and fixed major bugs in 2003 that couldnt be fixed unless the software was given an overhaul.

^^ 07 is great, there is an option right there in save as to save as reverse compatible to a doc file. The xml allows for direct to web publishing.
