I'm looking for an old mobo/processor if anyone has one. Anything that works should be fine. Included RAM would be awesome, but not necessary (depending on if I can get the kind it uses).
Only requirements are at least 1Ghz, an AGP slot, a PCI slot or two, and USB ports.
Onboard LAN would be cool, but not necessary either.

If you have something, shoot me stats or a part number, and a price.
Thanks! smile.gif

I've got a couple things

1. beige box with a crappy cyrix 1ghz onboard processor. It's got 192 mb pc133 memory now, but I've got more laying around. No hhd but I've got some laying around. Cdrom and floppy are in the case. $50

con: no agp, it's got onboard video though.

2. asus a7s333 - just motherboard - uses ddr no processor. It's socket 462 so you should be able to pick on up cheap.
http://mtzweb.scs.uiuc.edu/machines/manuals/a7s333.pdf -$25

con: no onboard nic, but since I'm such a nice guy wink1.gif I'll toss one in.

3. Ah I just found a athlon 1ghz that'll work with that mobo... I need to test this piece out before i sell. It was setting in the back of my used parts shelf and I just remembered it. - $25(if it's a good piece) includes heatsink as well.

I've also got tons of other crap around here too. Used nics, video cards, etc. What are you planning on using it for?

For my stage 1 carPC. wink1.gif
Doesn't have to be fast, just able to run winXP and play mp3s and divx without lagging.
Video output will be through either SVideo cable or RCA cables, but i'm sure I can rig that up here.

If you can check out the athlon, i'm interested.

I have a spare mobo, socket 754, AMD Athlon 64bit 3000+ board. It's an Asus K8U-X Xtreme series if you want something faster. No CPU, but you can pick them up for probably like 50$ or less. Price on the mobo would be like 50 shipped. It was like 65 or 70 when I bought it, I thought was a bad board, but I had a bad PSU. Turned on but no video, the videocard pulled too much power. Lemme know if you are interested and I'll see what my padre says..

Bliz, if you can verify 100% that it'll work once I find a chip for it, that might be a better choice for me.
More bang for the buck.

yup

I've got the M10000 Board he has in his carpc. Truthfully that would be WAAAAY better than the options we are giving you. The board is 9"x9" and has onboard everything. I would recommend NOT using gentoo though. I hate that distribution with a passion. Use fedora, centos, or debian. I'm running Fedora on my m10000, it's my nespc and functions as a mythtv frontend as well.

^^ Speaking of that, do you know of any good GPS/OBD software for linux?
Lack of support is the main reason i've been sticking with the Windows mindset for this project.
