#1
dont really know if this is where to put it, but it is what i want so yea lol
as the title states, im lookin for possibly someone to do my trunk, like build a box to fit my RD2 trunk perfectly and i figured i'd ask here since it wouldnt hurt to see if any1 in New Jersey might be into it and wouldnt try to kill me on pricing like some people i've talked to. You know like a side job laugh.gif so i hope i put this in the right spot, im lookin for someone to make a custom box for a 2001 tiburon trunk! thanks

i would say its in the right place. Im looking for a fiberglass top to go in the trunk. the member sunkistshark was talking about doing them but hes not around anymore. So if someone wants to do that I would be very happy. id like to try glassing but not on my trunk right away

Did you try asking "long" if he would do one? if you look at some of the stuff he does he does some good work. Shipping costs may be a killer for you though. BTW, what were your local area people asking anyways and for what?

dude, you could enlist the help of a friend, make a ugly square box, then make a pretty cover over the top of the box, carpet it, cut holes in it for speakers, mount speakers, then run your wires. Should take no longer then 4-6 hours.
You're looking at $200 including raw materials, paying your friend in pizza, beer, and $40 for his time.
just keep in mind how much airspace you need, don't go overboard or it won't sound right.

i am kinda in the process of doing this in my truck, i looked up my sub and what air space it needed built a simple box to those specs and now i'm goign to put a little carpet where the fg woudl touch and fiberglass somehting awsome in the back, or at least thats the plan. i looked at the diy fg instructions and all i need to do is make a cool skeliton out of wood and cover it with fleece and fg it strait up --- i am guessing

That's all there is to it. But if you want the HUGE speaker trunk look, you'll have alot of dead space. Doohickie made a false floor for his tools, maybe you could do the same for your storage space.
After you make the box, make a cover that will line your trunk, then put hinges on the sides of it. Carpet it over the top and noone will know that it's a small box inside a big one.
