Dude, haven't seen you in forever! What's up!

Probably car-part.com is your best bet. There's plenty on there for pretty good prices.

There's only 1 within 50 miles and under 80k. It's $500, and the only warranty they offer is 30 days parts only. Not crazy about that deal... really hoping I'll find something else on here. Or should I just start looking all over the country? What's a ballpark price to ship an engine?

shipping engines is expensive unless its worth it

I was just doing a little searching to find out what is involved in a beta 2 swap and I found your post actually faith... Did you ever do it? Is it just the head, block, and speed sensor? All the wiring matched up?

I had a beta 2 engine in the wagon

just used beta 1 manifolds and sensors so yah they all lined up just fine

make sure you get a motor from a 03 and older, 04 and newer had cvvt and requires new wiring and ecu

Engines get shipped on pallets on trucks. Pallets on trucks tend to start at $100-150 regardless of what's on the pallet, maybe a little less depending on how smart a shopper you are.

So wait, a beta 2 from an 03 just drops straight in? What needs to be modified?

Anthony, I totally would, but I have a feeling shipping an engine from the UK would cost more than $300, haha.

Maybe I'll start looking all over the US if I still can't find anything here. Should be finished having the engine all pulled out pretty soon here.

the oil pan IIRC might need to be slightly modified to fit the trans(its been like 4 years since i did the wagon) but other than that, right in AS LONG AS YOU GET A NON-CVVT ENGINE

youll reuse your fuel rail, injectors, intake manifold, cam and crank sensors, maf sensor, coolant temp sensor (and youll reuse the old tstat housing iirc)
