First off, no disrespect to your dad, but how does he know your ECU is bad?

I'm just wondering, because I've ever heard of maybe ONE of them being bad, ever.

Second off, I've got a 2.0 ECU you can HAVE, if you pay for S/H and ship me the bad one you have.

No offense taken..he figures it is because he hooked up the diagnostic machine to it and got ten different codes..all for different sensors that shouldnt just go bad and three out of four of my cylinders are misfiring. All this cant happen out of nowhere. My car is getting double checked again by one of his friends to make sure nothing else is wrong. But this all makes sense..I have a turbo timer hooked up and who knows if the person who installed that for me messed up some wiring.

Take the turbo timer out, then remove the turbo for a few minutes. Start it up just like that and see if it runs allright. It'll be loud, but if it runs fine, it was the wiring job.

Let me know if you want the ECU.

no need to take the turbo out, since it has nothing to do with the electronics and wont affect the car at all when not under boost, but yah thats what i told her, could be the wiring job that hoser did with the turbo timer.

Its most likely the turbo timer..first off it doesnt really work; the only thing it reads is battery voltage and if i shut my car off it only keeps the radio and things powered by the battery on. Secondly its easy to screw up wiring on a turbo timer and that can just screw up your whole car. ill have my dad remove the turbo timer.

redz ill let you know tomorrow if i want that ecu. Thanks.

If there's a short on one of the sensors, then the fuse from it should go out and throw a CEL. But it could have possibly fried the ECU anyways. Either way, getting a new ECU wouldn't help. You need to find what caused the problem or else you'll just fry another ECU. It's always possible it wasn't the timer. You never know.
