Does anyone know where I can find an aftermarket valve cover? I cracked mine today and wouldn't mind getting an aftermarket one that looks a little bit better than the stock one. Or if someone has a stock one laying around that's collecting dust I'd be willing to pick it up for a little cash.

I could also use a stock set of springs (front and back) that don't have too many miles on them. So for any of you guys that have lowered your tibs here's an opportunity to get rid of your stock springs. My car is a 97 Rev A Tib.

What colors and who is makin them? How well will they hold up against the heat? PM me dude, I'd love to know more myself...

 

i am talking with a local plactic guy and he said making the mold for the valve cover will be easy and coloring plactic is also easy so i was going to try to get the basic colors first (blue, red, silver and maybe a few others). It will be a good plactic, high heat and all. I am still waiting to hear about the cost of the work before i get them made. i dont want to spend alot of money if i cant get rid of them. i'll keep you posted

Well, that is true. It's VERY easy to set up molds and such for blow or vacumm molding. I used to work with plastics in some HS classes. Only problem is thickness. The thicker the plastic the harder to form.

Now I bring this up because our valve covers are VERY thick. Like 1/3 of an inch I think. Thick none the less. Depending on the type of plastic he uses and such... Hmm...

Well, you should see if he can do a set WITHOUT the screws for the sparkplug cover, for those with aftermarket wires that don't fit under the cover.

Lastly, I wonder if he'll be able to put screw inserts in like the stock one, so we can still screw everything in right. If I remember correctly, the stock one had some rubber on the left side and some other metal inserts.
