on the RD1 there are 6 switches mounted, 3 on each side, there used for defroster, rear wiper, cruise control, fog lights and 2 other things not sure what. but does anybody have these switches that work? i have 4 blank spots, i have front foglight switch and rear defroster switch... if anybody has the other 4 switches or knows where to get them please let me know. the dealership said they couldnt sell them to me, and i've searched so many junkyards no tibs i found have these buttons, only black "dummy" switches. but i noticed that all the wiring for those dummy switches are pre-wired and there.

If you took a minute and looked around, you'd see we have a "FOR SALE" and "WANTED" forum.

Maybe, JUST maybe, you should look in the "FOR SALE" forum.

You JUST MIGHT find someone parting out 2 first gen tiburons.

Moved and locked.

Unlocked, b/c TC was posting at the same time and said she didn't have any.

My guess is that one is for rear fogs, one is for heated seats.

1997, HyundaiUsa has a parts department. unfortunately, its currently down (or so I was told by Shadohh), when it gets back up and running, find part numbers.

If you are really, really nice, REDZ might be able to get them thru Kspec for you. Neither of those 2 switches were ever used in North America, to the best of my knowledge. Probably Europe...dunno 'bout the Motherland...

A little off topic maybe.....

Can you change them so they work as buttons?? There has got to be something you can use them for. They obviously are linked to something becuase I know that you have to remove pwr/gnd/12v from each spot to remove the cluster surround. evil.gif

yeah, you should be able to make them function for other things.

I'd recommend trying to find the male connector to wire into though, just in case you have to take your dash apart in the future.

from what I understand.. on the RD1.. the blank above the fog light switch is for the rear foglights.. (I have that switch!) and the middle one on the right side of the dash, below the rear defroster is the heated seats switch. With that particular option.. the small pocket in the centre console (The one infront of the larger, but before the "coin" slot.. is replaced with the reostat to control the seat temp.

I LOVE heated seats!

And The coin holder position in Europe (and I think an option in OZ) is the headlight leveling switch.
