hey i am having major problems with my car, so i think it might be the ecu.

Can anyone get me an 1.8 elantra ecu???

What problems are you having?

You can find the ECU's on Car-Parts.com or Ebay often.

 

i tried there Car-Parts.com i emailed people that had them but they never responded

the air and gas are really off.

 

If the car starts and run and you don't get a CEL telling you that the ECU is bad (corrupted memory), then it's not the ECU.

Search elsewhere; sensors, wiring, etc.

 

Let's brake down your problem before you start saying you need an ecu.

What's the problem?

What mods have you done?

ya i posted my problems all b4 and nothing could be figured out, but i coudlnt find the post, so ill start all over again

it all started when i put my obx headers in. i got a cel that poped up. So when and got that changed.
Then my acceleration went to ship only once in a while. i would accelerate and it i didnt want to go just went really slow and reved high.

Also starting issue. when the car is parked all nite it starts find. when you drive it around then park it and bout an hour later start it it doesnt want to crank over right away.

i had my clutch, spark plugs changed, spark plug wires, o2 sensors changed, fuel filter changed, fuel injector flush, throttle body sensor changed, took it to tha dealer many times and they cant find the problem and no cel pop up.

so i was thinkin the last thing i would change is the ecu. and if that doesnt work say goodbye to the tib.


what i have on the car is obx headers 2 1/4 piping, dynomax muffler, no cat, cold air.


so i thought b/c it seems like the air and fuel are off b/c sometimes it performs well and other times it doenst (slow as F*ck)

 

Dude, check your TPS. This sounds like the same problem we were having with ABQELANTRA's tib. It was his TPS. Sounds strange, but we swapped it out and whammo, worked fine, and has since.

I'd try that first.

You got WHAT changed?



You're saying the RPM goes up, while the car doesn't accelerate? That would be the clutch, pressure plate or flywheel, even if you had the clutch replaced. Could also be something in the linkage, but I'd doubt it.

Makes me remember... I had a problem ressembling that. I always thought it was related to my exhaust, maybe a flexpipe leak. Sometimes I would try to accelerate, and I would just get a "psshhhhhhhhh" sound", sounding like either a clutch slipping (but no smell) or a vacuum leak. I put the turbo in and changed the exhaust, and the problem went away wink1.gif

i cant have a hole in tha exhuast b/c that got changed recently and redone, would it matter if i had a cat or no?

the starter turns it just doenst crank over rite away. when its been sittin for an hour after driving it.
