Default Help!! Need a 03 Accent Rear Hub Assembly

I took my car for the VA inspestion, and the moron with an impact wrench didn't even try to line up the lug nut and crossthreaded the stud WHILE I WATCHED!!!! And now, get this, when I confronted him he told me thats how it was and I have to fix it or it fails inspection. fire1.gif BangHead.gif

Either way 2 things:
1) If anyone has one I could get cheap please let me know. (PM me or reply here.)
2) If you breakdown in front of Harris Tire in Norfolk push your car the 5 miles to the next shop, you'll be much happier!

Why not just replace the stud?

Thats what I thought I could do, but HMAService didn't say the studs were removable from the hub, and the pictures I've seen they at least appear to be part of the hub but if thats possible it should save me quite a bit.

Electronics are my speciality, this is the first car I've ever ventured into mechanics with. (That being said I still know how to put a lug nut on!)

I've never done it myself but the studs should be removable.

I'll take a look at mine tonight and let you know if they're removable...

*EDIT* - They appear to be removable. I'm 90% sure on it. It's worth a shot to see...

I looked it up on advanced auto's site they sell the studs, so I'm gonna try to do that.

Make sure you get the ones made for the rear (if there is a difference, there is on my Frontier).

I got it taken care of, although as a side note, the Advance Auto part look up for the stud on an 03 Accent is backwards (what they say is for front is really for the back and vice versa) it took me an extra day cause of that mix up.

Thanks for all your help!

Total for fix:
2.49-lug nut
1.59-stud
1.59-another stud (I didn't save the recipt for the first)
7.00-1 1/4 in deep well socket
-----
12.67 + tax (Harris Tire told me $94.......F*CK Harris Tire)
