^^ Yup, could not get through their voice-recognition automated system. Gave up after 10 minutes of saying No, Yes, Main Menu...

If I get no answer to my email I'll have to call back the stupid machine.

Well that's the thing Brake. if he refunded you but PAYPAL refunded him because it looked like a fraudulent transaction, WTF is THEIR deal? It's not Rick's fault that they did it.

I'm not standing up for him, I'm out more money than all of you combined, but Paypal has been known to do stuff like that.

Redz is right, I would like to know what triggered this situation at Paypal.

Did they choose to revert the transaction themselves because they saw multiple refund operation for a single (REAL) account?

Or did they receive a call from REAL to cancel the refunds?

Ok, just called PayPal. Here is what the guy explained to me.

It's actually Paypal that decided to hold these funds (mine, 01importshark, etc.) because they have reasons to think the money used to refund us was obtained fraudulently.

For example, I paid REAL 780USD. After that, they could have spent the 780USD and got another 500USD by selling stuff and never sending products. If my 180USD refund and 01import's 200USD were initiated using any of the 500USD, they will be considered obtained fraudulently.

He could not tell me a timeframe for the resolution of this problem or why it is under investigation. I guess they have received a lot of buyer complaints and they fear that we were refunded using this money, thus making our refund illegal (like my example above).

Only time will tell.

Btw, does anyone know how to contact the "new" REAL Engineering entity?

I never got mine either. I have tried emailing both Rick and the new Real company and neither have returned any emails to me.

Just received an email from PayPal :

QUOTE
We have conducted a review of a payment that you received. In this case, returning the funds to the sender was determined to be the appropriate action, and we have completed a reversal of the payment. Good selling practices, like trackable shipping, prompt shipment, and communication between buyer and seller help prevent disputes.

The refund I received has just been reverted and cash is sent back to REAL.

I just sent another Request Money to Artec/Real Engineering. I'll send one each day if needed.

Yeah, I transfered it to my bank account too, -213CAD in my Paypal. But I didn't spend it yet.

I'm wondering what are the legal actions they have at their disposition if you do that? I'll go check the agreement...
