Well,

Guess I'll pull my short list of reliable providers out and make yet another red line.

that sucks guys... might as well take your paycheck and tell the owner to buy his wife a new ring with it.

how come both doodes did the same exact thing? i just don't know what happened with rick? why can't they just give the refund. it's money they didn't have before anyways. he could have at least posted an apology or updates of somekind to the very people who supported him.

He doesn't have any money to refund with. Its that simple. So he sold his biz, and is waiting for cash. Like 10K that he gets to figure out how to refund AFTER his business is gone. So...once he gets some money he can START to refund people. Till then, its just the waiting game.

damn... i guess he got screwed over too, but why wouldn't the new people complete what was to be finished and pay of whatever needed to be refunded? why would it take this long for him to get the money?

i know this is for the people involved, but it's a big mystery. rick is probably trying very hard to fight it back, but it's been like 7 months or so.

Was REAL engineering a one man show? What about REAL Korea? Rick was the owner of that too? Or he was the owner of the US office only?

I feel sorry for all the people that got f***ed in this, I myself was going to invest some cash in REAL products, I guess I was VERY lucky I had a family situation that left me out of cash for some months (and when I got it back, this thing had already unveiled).

I have no business posting here, I just wanted to draw your attention on this: If his business was small, he got f***ed by a provider, does not have any money to warranty/back-up the refunds on the sales he did, what is this "new bigger company" buying? A bunch of debts? A small list --let's get realistic, there are not much of us out there-- of pissed of clients? An internet domain name?
This becomes important because if he has nothing to sell, he won't be getting any money, and if he doesn't he is not going to refund nothing.... I mean, I am not judging the guy who I don't have anything personal against, but I'd hate even more than this to see members are hoping for something that is not going to happen.
It would be best to consider it a definite loss, or take legal actions right away, maybe you all can get to an agreement where you cut your losses, I mean he pays proportionally with all he has to everybody; what he can't pay, he will not pay anyways. Any settlement is better than to loose ALL the money you put there.

I also replied in another thread in the REAL subforums... it seems Rick is trying to sell turbokits now... I repeat, I don't have nothing against him, but if he can pick the phone to talk to a possible customer, and tries to sell a turbokit; but he won't answer your calls because your are a PITA right now, that's not good.

I mean, the LEAST he could do is to listen to you every day complaining about the situation and having to deal with some gripes and complaints over his phone; that's business. Customer might not be ALWAYS right, but companies must listen to them anyways.

Also, he could post something like "fenders, money yada, yada, yada... I don't have money for refunds, I know I should but I screwed, even when I want to, I can't do anything about it. BUT, I could pay you back in other products, like turbo kits (if he can sell it means either he has them, or he's just planning on taking advantage of someone who does not know what happened here)... I will continue to do business selling what I have in stock; you pay 50% to get it shipped, after tracking number you pay another 25%, and when you receive the merchandise you pay the last 25%... I am making bucks to pay people back"

To hide under the rag is not the way to deal with this things.
