Default a quick alpine supercharger question

I was just wondering if anyone has added a bigger pulley to that supercharger while installed and if so did you have it dynoed? Also, what were the results over the stock pulley?

that would lower the psi. you need to put a smaller pully on the get more psi.

To the best of our knowledge, no one has up'd the boost on these yet! They can't without throwing a lot of CEL's!

The first group of buyers received this kit with an 85mm pulley, and we threw a CEL at WOT during CARB testing. We then put on a 86.5mm pulley, and passed! We only lost 0.10-lbs/psi of boost, and no noticeable hp loss to the wheels. But, just the difference of 1.5mm can throw a CEL! we are at the limits of the MAF sensor, and close to the limits of fuel. We know ECU managment will be necessary for any upgrades, and are testing our own "little black box" ECU technology this week on our 2.0L and 2.7L test mules (which we just got back from Hyundia after the S. Korean exec's played with them for a few weeks!).

We are now test-fitting this 2.7L kit on the Santa Fe, and then will do the same for the Sonata and Kia Optima, making whatever changes necessary to the installation kit and instructions to fit these other 2.7L applications. Once this has been done (by the end of March?), we will then be able to devote time to the upgrades. We are a little disappointed with HKS, whom we gave a kit to asking them to "push the envelope". (Their car was "damaged" at SEMA (somebody hit a curb and tore up the front suspension), and it has been sitting in a corner collecting dust since!!!!)

I'll do my best at trying to keep everyone posted on upgrades!

From my experience with the alpine supercharger... it tends to get VERY hot...

If your looking for an upgrade... try nitrous

Im sure a 75 WET shot will land you somewhere in the 230-250whp region

Stock pistons will be at their limit though...

Just a thought... I wonder what it would do for the turbo eek!

Just remember to ask alpine if its ok with them,... cuase it might void any warranty or terminate any possible partnerships

My 2.0 s/c tib is going in the shop soon for them to experiment with increasing the boost, so I will let you know how I get on.

For best performance you should look for a cam that has higher lift and longer duration on the exhaust side. also increasing the rev limiter on the engine or by making the pulley smaller.
