Default q for ya tim

Sup tim,

Will your log manifold / equal length manifold(s) either one match up w/ a garrett T3/T4 Super 60 Turbo w/ internal wastegate? I have the turbo im just working on getting the other parts now.

Also i've got the money for one or the other, intercooler or manifold (til i get paid) if i were to get the intercooler first and install that without the turbo , is this possible to do?? would there be a performance gain? All i need to install the intercooler is the piping kit that you sell right? & do your intercoolers include the piping kit?

Thanks for the input man, this is my first turbo project doin on my own rd2, so the help is greatly appreciated. & I'd be more than happy 2 give u the business. Oh!! and where are you located?

Hate to answer for Tim, but I don't want to leave you waiting for a reply. The turbo I wouldn't know, I would think the flange would mate, but I don't know Garrett turbos very well. I don't do research on turbos I don't have.

Might need a little bit of readup if you thought you could run an intercooler without a turbo... Think about it. Your going to be taking in hot air, uncompressed, from in your engine bay. Its going to run through your intercooler, then have to make its way up all that piping. It might run, but not very well and your probably going to lose a lot of horsies more than gain any. Especially if your going to run a large intercooler, I don't see how it would have velocity to get into your engine.

His intercoolers come pipingless, I know that for sure.

My advice to you is to get all the parts of the turbo, look at how they will go on there, plan what your doing, and take a weekend or something off after you know what you are going to do. Get the turbo, the manifold, intercooler, FMU, turbo timer, the piping, oil lines, and everything you need. Its your first turbo project, so don't half ass it. smile.gif

ok great, so i'll probably go with the T3 Super 60 turbo the log style manifold you sell (all with the internal wastegate) , a small intercooler , the piping, oil lines, and a apex safc. Will i need anything else? Should I upgrade my fuel injectors?

Also HamHead you mentioned a Turbo Timer, can u explain what i would use this for and make a suggestion to one that would work on my setup.

How would i hook a bov in and is it needed?

A Turbo Timer runs your engine after you take your key out to prevent coking the turbo's bearing. A coked bearing = a ruined turbo. Keeping the engine running for about 5mins or so after normal driving just moves some of the oil around, through, and out of the turbo to keep oil from messing up the turbo on start up. A nice little tool.

I'll let Tim field the others but a Blow Off Valve is needed.

^^^ Yeah, thats what a turbo timer does. You could run without if you sat in your car for a few minutes. But they are only like 120 bucks. GReddy and HKS are common.

Stock Fuel injectors should be good to around 7PSI with the T3 Super 60... blowoff valve would be a good idea, it takes pressure off the turbo itself. Besides they sound cool. LOL smile.gif
