Default Oil Pump - how to increase pressure for Turbo

Hey all,

if any of you are interested in turning up the pressure on your oil pump slightly - specially those who have gone turbo heres how you do it.

Firstly I suggest doing this at an oil change interval as it requires the sump (oil pan) moved.
With the sump removed, you will see an oil pickup arm with a small gause at the end of it, next to this pickup you will see a large bolt head with a return hole drilled up the middle of the head.

This is the oil pressure bolt, you will need to unscrew this hollow bolt (be careful it is spring loaded) and insert solid washers about 4 - 6mm inside the bolt (it is hollow) this will compress the spring more than normal and will increase your oil pressure by about 0.5bar (6 - 7PSI) this has been done on my Tiburon and has been running for about 3 years now.

increasing oil pressure is to the benefit to your turbocharger and internals. By increasing the pressure, you also increase the volume of oil flowing through the system.
