Default NEW CAI Info... (Just information, from the site, don't delete!)

Ok, for those of you not checking SR's website everyday for updates to past shipping dates for the CAI's and other items, I'll try to bring the info here when I find it. I found this today...

QUOTE
We have good news and bad news about the line of intakes. First the good news: All intake prototypes have been completed and are at the factory ready for production. Also, after a lengthy search, we were able to find the different factories that the top intake companies (AEM, DC Sports, Injen) use for all of their components for the intakes. We are using the same factory as AEM for the tubing of our intakes. We are using the same factory DC, AEM, and INjen all use for the high performance filters. And we are using a third factory which is the same one that Injen and AEM uses for the connectors. Thus, these intakes quality wise will be second to none. However, although we are having no problems with the connectors and filters, AEM put in a last minute huge order at the tubing factory. AEM being AEM, thus took priority, and our intakes were all put on hold. Thus, they will not be finished until the second week of January. The intakes come in Red, Blue, or Silver, and all come with everything necessary for installation. You will have a choice of filter - basic filter with a design that allows for great airflow, or a high performance filter that is basically the same filter used in high end intakes such as AEM and Injen. The pictures below show the two prototypes that we have finished. Obviously the quality will be much higher on the production model. It will be seamless, as well as come in a high quality performance powder coat. The filter and all connectors will have our logo on them.
This isn't a FLAME or a RANT, it's to help everyone out so don't delete it or go off topic.

Updates telling about a delay is better than a delay with no reasons, know what I mean. wink

Which logo, I'm wondering. I wish it was the old one where the word "Shark" looked written, and Racing was in the block letters.

I dunno, but it's nice to have all these recent updates.

Did you see the pictures of the colored finished protos?

I just wanna see a Dyno before I decide. (And the logo. LOL)

Finished 2nd week of january, ship to SR a week later? Another week or so to package them in fancy SR boxes, 2 more weeks in mail. Looks like these CAIs will be Valentines Day presents to ourselves.

For the preorders, we are just going to put them in generic boxes so that we can send them out as soon as they are done. After a month, our fancy boxes should be ready. Also, it will only take about 3-5 business days to ship since they will come from california.

RedZ, Brad said those weren't the finished intakes, just examples of the shape... I thought.

Right, that's why I said they were the finished and painted protos (Prototypes). Like it says in that quote, the actual products won't have the welds and will look nicer.

I think these look perty good.

Yam, what logo is going on them?

If I prebuy one now, can I get the pretty box sent to me later?

I'd love to come home and have one of these puppies on.

That would be nice, since I am technically uninclined when it comes to cars.
