intercooler
I noticed after looking at the rad pics that you have intercooler pics there to. Can you give me any info on this if you sell it seperate like flow, pricing etc. Sory if you already have posted this but i didnt see it under any of your headings.
What specs are you after exactly?
I cannot give you flow until you give me inlet pressure, CFM flow into the cooler, and whether it is a custom cooler you are speaking of or the standard CNK cooler included in the CNK turbo kit?
I am assuming you are talking about the picture you saw...?
Let me know and I will provide you with all the specs.

OK sorry yep not enough info. Its the pics that are hosted on page2 of the link for the rad pics for the Mazda. What im looking at is at the moment i have the Alpine kit pretty much stock, Running at 11psi with the Mitsubishi TD04-15T which maxes out at around 318CFM. I am looking at upgrading the kit later this year. So my plan is to get a better intercooler first then when ive got the cash together get a turbo on there that will flow a bit more, I cant give specs as to exactly what im going for as i havnt fully decided. But im only looking at increasing the bhp by say another 50-70 engine BHP (250 at the moment) at around the same PSI maybe a little more.
Sorry i am also still trying to get the specs on the Alpine intercooler so i cant give those yet, but i get the funny feeling that yours will outperform it. Basically i am after a good intercooler as i dont want to go to large on the turbo as i want to keep the spool time down and i dont want to overwork the unit to get the BHP i want so a top quality intercooler is critical to the setup i am after.
Standard or custom well that depends on the pricing and quality of the two setups. (Not saying the standard isnt good quality) but im sure you will be able to tell me if you could build a better one custom or if your standard one out of the kit will be fine for what i need.
Oh and incase you havnt guessed im still in the process of learning all this, im getting there but as im sure you know the more you learn the more you find you dont know.
Hope thats enough info.

OK - I'm with you now.
The cooler will flow a mximum of around 800CFM with 63mm piping on it. Once you have found your turbocharger which I can also help you choose if you like.
Let me know then I will tell you what I propose you use as far as intercooler goes. Even if you go for a T3 turbo, the intercooler I supply with the CNK turbo kit will work perfectly as has a 50mm inlet into the cooler and a 63mm outlet to the intake manifold - this cooler as it standa with these pipe dimentions will give you an air flow and air speed of the following:-
Assuming your turbochargers compressor housing has an intake of 3" (76mm) and an outlet of 2" (50mm) --- which is the norm on the T3 AR60 housings @14.7Psi ----------- then you will have this:-
inlet pipe velocity = 205.1 ft/sec
compressor outlet pipe velocity = 222.7 ft/sec
up pipe velocity (intake pipe) = 98.1 ft/sec
If I make the up pipe smaller the velocity will increase, but the volume will decrease, giving you in essence higher thermal load and less power.
Volume you are looking at around 450CFM or thereabouts
