I was thinking, we have maybe 15-20 companies MAX, that buy and sell parts for the Hyundai guys. Sure there are generic parts, like the 100s of companies selling "Vader" this or "V-Style" that. But of us few that actually cater to the hyundai guys as well as others, we never really compare notes? I know its not some strategic business practice to keep all of our experience to ourselves, but I figure I can help other businesses by informing them of companies that have done me wrong, or how I got past it.
For example, off hand, i can name three companies who totally sucked the life out of me.
Believe it or not, one of those companies was Eibach. Now other than this, they're a great company, but at one time, I got the shaft because of selling their parts, based on THEIR prices. I had some springs and struts selling for tibs and elantras. They had a list price of like 536 or something for the struts. I got my cost from my supplier of Eibach, and they gave me about 5% off extra for buying a bunch. I had people send in cash, and all went like clock work. Then my supplier goes to order from Eibach direct along with the other 100 pieces they ordered, and Eibach tells them the list price on the struts went up to like 890 or something crazy. All the sudden the cost of struts were about the same as coilovers. Long story short, the Elantra guys chewed me up and spit me out, as if I planned to screw everyone. Eibach hadn't updated ANY dealers of this issue, and they only had about 5 in stock when this happened. Rather than just sell at their old price (like every sale ever prior to my GB) they wanted the full new retail price, and it tanked my GB.
I think I lost a few hundred bucks, which sucked but no big deal. But I lost TONS of customers, and tons of time dealing with it. Same thing with Hotshot Headers. And also similar probs with VIS. I'll post about those after I hear from one of you guys.
I'm curious about business in Korea, and how things go down over there. I'm sure ImportShark could tell us a bit about that, and for sure Seoulful Racing as well. I just read about PhantomHP having issues with K-Sport, so i wanted to hear what the back story was if possible. All in all, it might be nice to just have an idea of who is running what company around here, I guess just in the sense of having some peers.
K guys, my rant is over, care to start one of your own?

The big problem over in Korea is that 75% of the stuff available isn't there after a month or 2.
Seriously.
You see some company make 100 of a part, sell them off, then dissapear. Sometimes they'll stick around, do it for a few rounds, then poof, they are gone.
Ksport, those f***ers need to be shot.

No. They waited till they got a bunch of money from a second round of Hyundai GB folks, claimed that they never got any money, withdrew Phantom HP from their distributorship, and put 2 new folks on the same site selling them the same day.
Still a legal mess.
