Thanks for the additional pics and explanations!

What are you doing for the 3rd bumper? Is it as stocker you are going to modify?

I need to just say f-it and cut the damn thing. It's a race car anyway, not my daily. And I haven't built it for show so what the hell why not.

Might do this this weekend.

Thats what I'm going for. Minus the "out of this world ugly monster scoop" and the license plate.

I used to have a Kore front but I sold it because it's all fiberglass. You know like me that on a circuit fiberglass isn't your friend wink1.gif Hitting a cone at over 100mph could mean disaster. Instead, the Rd/Gk match will still be all plastic and flexible, while having a suficiant surface area for the IC stock, so no need to cut anything off. cool.gif

So you can't purchase a bumper like that one? I wish I could because it looks great.

What are you making it out of again? An rd/gk match, I'm confused.

rd + GKII bottom = sex.. only thing you have to do is widen the GK II part or itll look funky and show the bottoms of the tires.. looks like the one in the pic is widened a little bit.

For now I trimmed off the bottom 1.25" of my license plate; just under the numbers/letters (hope its not TOO illegal, lol). I also drilled mounting holes 1" lower than the existing top ones. Now the plate isn't blocking the intercooler AT ALL. It looks MUCH better too.

I'm still a bit weary of cutting into the bumper though, don't know how it will look with the silver.

Hey, how did you do against that s2k?

Do you have any way of seeing how much lower your IAT's are now with the increased FMIC exposure?

I mean if it's only a few degrees it might not be worth it.

Also, I think I need to do an oil cooler, my oil temps get near 280 on long cruises in 80 degree F weather. Is that too high? I use amsoil full synthetic with a flash point of about 500 degrees but still think 280's a bit too high. So if I need to do an oil cooler where should I put it? Maybe a small one in the fender or something?

Thanks guys - sorry for getting a bit OT.

Why not simply get a second bumper, regardless of the color and try it out? It frees up a good 3 inch of surface area, I think it's worth it.

Against the S2K at Calabogie it was great, is car was stock, besides the tires. I didn't have any problems getting by in the straits, but in the thight corners section he was able to catch me a little bit, but never enough to catch me back.

I've got no idea by how much degrees the AIT is cooler now, sorry, but it sure doesn't hurt!

I use regular mineral oil, Kendall 20W50 in the summer here, 10w30 in the winter. Everytime I tryed synthetic oil it was to liquid and the engine didn't like it.

Kendall is the shyt!

I used to run it back in the day in my old tiburon.

Junkyards around here don't ever have tiburons my year and if they do it is almost a guarentee the front bumper is smashed.

Not to mention finding one in the same color. I guess I could try e-bay but shipping would be a b****.

I would love to find another bumper and make the tib look REALLY sick from the front, but like I said they are rare over here.

Any ideas?

you can get a brand new GKII front bumper from rock auto for less than 300$ shipped i believe.. or look at new tiburon.com for the 05-06 tib guys getting body kits..

also might be able to find some 05-06s that got in a wreck.
