ETA on ECU replacement?
Dave:
You got this e-mail form John, right?
Hi Dave,
We have been working flat out on the Hyundai Elantra to get it going, so that we can do the set up. Phillip has been chasing this in my absence. This has been top priority and was informed by Phillip this morning that it was going to be completed today. As soon as the setup is complete we will send you the box and fitting instructions.
We have at no time slowed down on this project. The guys have been working weekends on it. I will be back in the US on Thursday.
Regards,
JOHN

Well...he's back in the office today, and he's the one you'll need to keep after to get some answers, as I'm kind of "out-of-the-loop" on this!

So is alpine ditching the unichip?
whats with this new black box?
Some answers on this would really be nice before someone starts spending numerous hours installing something that might be removed frown

I was going to purchase the Alpine kit but after looking into the unichip I changed my mind due to the fact that I would have to drive 250 miles if I need to have it tuned, If Alpine comes up with something better I would buy the kit the next day.
Alpine is working on ditching the Unichip. I've been waiting for over 3mths now for this to happen. 3mths of not being able to utilize the kits full potential. sad.gif I'm sure it's not something that can happen over night but my patience is wearing thin. beat_dow I too am in a situation where there is no Unichip dealer/tuner any where near my place of residence.
Steve? Hello? Steve? Scuby-do where are you? (yes, I am going insane... help

`01-`03 Elantra / `03 Tiburon (2.0L-I4) Turbo w/Aqua-cooler Kit (Beta II engine)
(Off Road & Race Only)
The decision was made to bring this kit to market as soon as possible, using the above kit's exhaust manifold and therefore is not going to be CARB certified. We have designed a new more efficient self-contained liquid-to-air "Aqua-cooler" for this kit. This kit will also get the benefit of our own new "black-box" ECU management, doing away with the Unichip. To build this kit to meet CARB certification, would require designing a new exhaust/turbo manifold that utilizes the factory exhaust manifold/catalytic converter (also increasing the cost), and the decision to do so has not been made yet!
Available: July`03.
Est. MSRP: $3000.
