Oh wow that is great bigg news...Well when you go is it possible to ask about a supercharger or turbocharger for the 1.8 DOHC, if it is possible...But yeah if you can do one for the 3.5 Then you guys could do one for the 2.7 V6 and or 2.4L DOHC right?
Oh and since its for the 3.5L then that means the turbo can hook up to the Sedona Minivan and The XG350L it would be great if hyunai would creat a sport model for the XG350L, but does that mean since a supercharger is going to be built or talked about does that means that Hyundai Will bring over there im sorry I foregot the name But the V-8 Luxury Sedan?

Jaime:

We already make an "Aqua-cooled" Supercharger for the Hyundai 2.7L, that fits the Tiburon, Sonata, Santa Fe, and the Kia Optima:

On the 3.5L we are developing for Kia, at this time we're not sure it is the same engine in the Hyundia XG350, and doubt this kit will fit the Sedona (but who knows, I guess we'll have to get one in here for a test-fitting).

I will also leave you guys with this little tibit as well:

Because of our warranty discussions with several O.E.'s about our kits being offered as a "dealer installed option" covered under the factory warranty, we've instigated our own policy (to match theirs) which will "blanket" their warranty, so even if they decide not offer through Corporate, our warranty will supersede it!

Steve

P.S. We'll be closed all of next week because of the SEMA Show, so I'll try to answer any more questions when we get back. Thanks.

Jaime...

We are meeting with Kia this week, and they are expected to give us an Optima to install the 2.7L Auqa-cooled supercharger on. they also want us to get started on their 3.5L application as well, but don't think it's the same engine in the Hyundai XG350, but we'll double check with them.

As far as the re-engineered Elantra turbo? When we finish the Aqua-cooler conversion and tune on the dyno, we can see if we can squeeze any more out the the turbo safely, but don't anticiapte more than an additional 10HP, or torque (but...you never know)!!!

I will keep you all posted as to any updates on this application too!

Me too. I'm going to use nitrous for the moment to feed the need then hopefully upgrade to an Alpine S/C or turbo.

Spatch!

Sorry guys...but we have been extremely busy since SEMA.

Regarding the s/c kit for the 1.8L/2.0L:

Our new R&D guy (was the head of R&D at Vortech/Paxton) just started this week, and our fabrication shop is almost finished now. We have been "fixing" some of the stock problems on the red 2000 tibby Tony dropped off last month, and are now ready to "dial in" the s/c kit for the beta I engine, and will be submitting for CARB testing as soon as the 2.7L application passes (already being tested now). Once this kit is dialed in, we will run dynos and post the results here. We still have to make some modifications to the intake manifold for the beta II engines, but aren't sure how extensive the changes will be yet.

Regarding Kia's:

We have no plans at the moment to do anything else for Kia other than the 3.5L Aqua-cooled s/c for the new Sorento (nor could we even begin development until sometime after April!)

...and here's the latest on the warranties:

All of our non-CARB approved applications carry a "1-Year / Unlimited Mileage" warranty against defects in materials and workmanship (unless otherwise specified). Any omission or addition of parts, deviation or modification to our kit from its original intent, design, and installation instructions, or any additional modifications that may affect the performance and reliability of our kit as intended, will void this warranty.

We are still hammering out the fine print at this point in time, but anticipate having a "3-Year / 36,000 Mile Power Train" backed by Dell Financial Services (same people who back GM's warranties) in place before the end of this year. A Dell Financial representative or an "Authorized Alpine Developments Installation Facility" will be the only ones who can sign off on this. This may include and cover "official" upgrades from Alpine Developments . Details on this will be forwarded to you when this has been finalized.

Even more good news...we will be offering an optional "extended warranty" on the basic kit (no modifications at all) that can be purchased at the time of purchase of our kits, or up to 90 days after purchase of our kit, that will match the remaining factory power train warranty as long as the vehicle has less than 50,000 miles on it. (The price for this will vary depending on the length of the factory warranty being matched, but don't anticipate it being more than an extra $200-to-$300.) The details of this are not all set yet, but as with the other warranty, will have to be "signed off" by a Dell Financial representative, or "Authorized Alpine Developments Installation Facility". We should have all this in place by the first of the year, and should be available to existing owners prior to it being available! Unfortunately, any upgrades (even our own "official" upgrades) will not be covered by this extended warranty package. Again, details on this will be forwarded to you when this has been finalized as well.

Oh... and because of the warranties, and increases in overhead, we will have a $200 retail price increase on all of our applications starting January 1, 2003 (Sorry!)

No new updates yet! We are only three full-time employees now, and with all of the other things going on (like getting vehilces ready for CARB testing, sorting out the fine print on the new warranties, all the while fixing up the offices and computers.

I should have some news for you later next week!
