Re: Official Bush vs. Kerry Thread
After two weeks of using my portable battery jumpstarter... I finally got my new battery... I promised this would be something cool.. No, it is not an optima red/yellow/blue top. But first....
Old picture of the engine bay with the original battery in non-stock position:
Old stock battery.. big, ugly, heavy:
Ok.. that is squared away... old battery with what went in:
In case you are wondering.. that is a Hawker/odessey drycell.. Military spec battery for the street.. yes it is TINY compared to stock.. yet still has 700cold cranking amps... they have larger and smaller.. but I did not need either of those
Odeseey battery alone:
In the car.. with the expensive and really nice looking aluminum mount that I bought for it:
One more shot.. and yes, as you can see, I excised most of the red from my engine compartment.. neat thing about the odessey.. it has a metal cover you can remove to paint or plate.. I painted mine green to contrast the polished aluminum of the mount
Another view:

Re: Free Cam Sprocket Mod !
You can get the battery from Summit racing for $160.. I went straight to the manufactorer in California and got it for 129.95 and the aluminum mount was 104.95. Shipping, VIA UPS, to New Jersey was 31.96.
weight.. that is where this battery really shines...
25 pounds.. and I was wrong on the Cold Cranking amps... 925 CCA for five seconds...
and here is who I got it from...
http://www.odysseybatteries.com/
If you call them on the phone, they sound a little whacked.. like maybe they are not really a well organised company.. but they got the job done

Re: FS: VHR 2.0 clutch kit
Okay... possibly a stupid question, but because this is a drycell does that mean we could mount one of these in the trunk without the need for putting it in a sealed container?

Re: How many interseted in gullwing doors?
Very cool. I was thinking about relocating my battery. The only thing holding me back was I didn't like the footprint of a regular battery with a sealed container.
But these things are tiny, especially so if they don't need the size increase of a container.
Sudden urge to get one of these... rising...

Re: FINALLY; Production of new gen Hyundai super-engines
check out their website.. they offer pics of several cars with custom installs.. including at least one trunk mount.
