Default Vehicle - 1987 Pony and 1987 Stellar

What`s going on peeps!

I came here initially to find help looking for a car in Korea, as I am here till at least Mar 2013, but I thought that not everybody knows me, so I will post up what I`ve been up to.

Aside from racing this at Mosport:

and blowing up its engine, (that was Sept. 2010 - because of Uni and several girlfriends, as well as being in a cast for 6 months, I was unable to find time to replace engine) I was going to replace it with a custom 2.3L 4G63 (I have all the parts, started to do some work to the heads - Ported, 3 angle valve, 0.030 shave, ported intake runners) using a 2.0 4G63 block and a 2.4L 4G64 crank, as well as a 4G67 DOHC head (1.8L Sonata) all fed by two Weber DCOE 45`s (the manifold was almost made ready)

As currently configured, the engine has:

-Rochester 2Jet carburator (from 305 V8) mounted to a custom IM that I ported out

-Super aggressive race cam (don`t know specs it was a custom unit but it does have .5 inch lift with ridiculous overlap)

-Ported + Polished head (0.030 shave) and 3 angle valve job

-Lower heat range NGK`s

-8.8MM Taylor wires

-Custom oil catch can

-Lightened flywheel (12lb vs 18lb stock)

-200mm Accent stage 2 clutch

-MSD 6T with selectable 5.5K and 6.6K RPM (self made, connects through interior `Sport`and `Econ` switch, which also controls ign. timing) with tach adapter

-Recurved ignition with Stellar2 electronic ignition

-Electric fuel pump with regulator (manual one in place to block hole in head - not functional)

-High flow B12 Nissan Sentra crossflow rad

-Electric rad fan conversion with MX6 fan (push)

-Self made exhaust manifold plate welded to Hooker headders for a Plymouth Arrow - Wrapped

-2-5/8 collector going into a resonator and a Flowmaster exhaust (rest of exhaust is 2.25 inches) which is side exit - Very minimal bending.

Exterior `body kit`: (the entire car has since been painted gloss black, temporarily)

-1987 Escort GT front bumper, moulded to fenders

-1992 FSO Polonez headlamps sitting on 6cm extended light support with 6K HID

-1992 FSO Polonez grille (temporary, and also not finished yet - notice gap in hood to top of grille clearance)

-1989 Cavalier Z24 side skirts, shortened, flipped (R side on L, vice versa) and moulded to body

-1981 VW GTi fender flares (rear only - the Stellar2 axle will stick out 1.5 inches on each side)

-1986 Escort EXP rear bumper, which was shortened 1 inch (length and width)

-1990 Peugeot 405 taillamps

-1990 Dodge Shadow power heated mirrors (blown switch, unfortunately )

-2002 Cougar 16`s (195/40 front, 215/50 rear)

-Dealer option rear spoiler (moulded)

-Aftermarket sunroof (pop up and removable)

The interior is mostly stock except for 1989 Prelude seats (5 way adjustable) and 5 way seatbelts, a tach, fuel PSI gauge, power locks (remote+central locking) and rear power windows (Front stays manual)as well as factory 2 spoke MOMO leather wheel. Oh and RD Tiburon pedals.

It is certainly not finished!

HS 2010

This is the same car, believe it or not:

This is the donor car, my trusty 1984GLS, which has been with me since 2001... It was time old friend...

Same car (different doors though, I found some rust free ones later)

The day I bought her from the junkyard:

Alas, I went to Korea before I could even visit my stored Pony...

The other car I have is this:

1987 Stellar CXL fully loaded except aircon and sunroof - It`s a 4G63, automatic unfortunately. I put over 80,000 KM`s on it and I got it for free in late 2006 - Since that time I have put in $3,000 including the $700 price of another parts Stellar which was manual - Most parts (incl. 5 point multilink rear axle) will go into the Pony, but I kept most body panels in case I ever crash this one.

I suppose I could post the mods:

-2.4L 12 valve head and cam(ported + polished and shaved by previous owner)

-`liberated` exhaust manifold (no more substrate in there)

-2.5 inch under axle Magnaflow exhaust

-Electric fuel pump

-Tuned Mikuni 2xBBL carb (stock)

-MSD SCI with tach adapter

-8.8m Taylor wires

-Volvo 850 Radiator (out of necessity) using part of a Mercedes 230 upper rad hose and some clever bits from an Elantra to make adding fluid possible

-2000`s Z24 pull type `manual` rad fan (out of necessity)

-6000K HID and optional fog lamps

-1988 Firebird rear spoiler

-15 inch wheels from Escort GT (195 front 205 rear)

-7 speaker sound system with JVC head unit (it takes USB and is 45w channel - that`s all I know)

-Oh and I downgraded the steering wheel to that of a base model (from parts Stellar) because it looked better.

I think that`s it for now..

LOL if you ever need expertise on old 4G mitsubishi engines or carburators, I'm your man!

I've actually been on more Mitsu and Chrysler forums since I stopped posting... That and I'd like to buy a Genesis when I return
