old motor that burns about as much oil and coolant as gas.

new motor!

Motor Removed!

One accident

New motor cleaned up and ready to go!

With new Fidanza

With relatively new ACT clutch (less than 5k on it)

Ready to install

Now the motor is just hanging out in the garage till I have time to put it back in. Just this has taken me quite some time! Once I get done I'll stick that old motor on my motor stand and see what happened. I thinking cracked rings on cylinder #3...

Update! It runs! Of course I don't have a picture after I got it started but these were shortly before.

^^12 psi - t3 super 60 turbo. There wasn't ever an "big bang" or anything, just started smoking a lot, it was a long progression (like 2 years). old motor was stock and so is the new one. I'm planning on rebuilding the old one to handle more boost and cranking it up to 16, then I'll have to decide if I want to get another turbo.

I can't find anything wrong with the old motor! The only thing I have to fall back on is that leak down that had cylinder 3 leaking a ton. The machine shop hasn't seen it yet but he says it's hard to tell when your looking at it but it might just be the oil ring. The main factor is this motor overheated multiple times one week when we traveled down to Houston in the middle of summer

Big Update!!!

It runs and left the garage! Been so busy I haven't had time to update. I drove it friday and today. Still having issues but I think I just need a coil pack. Getting misfire on 2&3. So going to see about picking one up tomorrow. I don't see how you guys drive around with anything more than the drop from these eibach springs! I'm scraping exhaust all the time going over speed bumps now of course they are these MASSIVE speed bumps in the parking garage at the hospital here.

here's a few from the night it left the garage (monday last week) and a quick snap from friday.

I'll get a good photo shoot soon once it's running with my new hood on it as well.

That's one heck of a change. Can't wait to see the videos Could be spark plug or wires as well on the misfire.

forgot to report back, it was the coil pack. Went to Napa Wednesday last week, they actually had the coil pack and wires in stock. I pulled into the parking lot just bearly chugging along, no power at all. Put them on in the parking lot and did a burnout across 3 lanes leaving the parking lot. It was awesome.. smile.gif
