Ive been working on my turbo project for awhile now. Its not completely done but I figured Id post up something bout it. So pretty much Im going to give you the goodies of the build(if thats what you wanna call it)
-Beta I with 48k miles on it
-1.8 manual tranny with 57k on it
-T04E turbo
-Shark Racing 268 cams (thanks yamaha)
-Treadstone turbo manifold
-Lucas #42 injectors
-Aeromotive fpr (thanks ericy321)
6 puck unsprung ACT clutch setup
-XTD lightweight flywheel
-OBX lightweight pullies (crank, water, power steering)
-Ported and polished head (Being done as of now)
-Port matched intake manifold
-AEM Uego wideband
-Autometer boost gauge
*Upcoming parts yet to come*
-BBTB 60-65mm, jus depends on what one I get
-Outlaw engineering phenolic spacers
-Knock of hks ssqv bov
-Manual boost controller, prolly nsx
-PnP MS from kfx performance.
Pics
Beta motor in my hatch
Painted motor
Cylinder head
Block
Cylinder #1 has a gash on the piston, how worried should I be? Its towards the top of the pic.
Now Ive noticed that every piston has a small pinhole on each one in the same spot, is this jus a casting mark or what? I looked at stockers port and polish thread and the pistons in his car appear to have them too. Can somebody chime in on this?
But Im keeping a stock bottom end as of now. I would go with low compression pistons but dont have the money for them right now. Im hoping for a nice ~300hp with around 12psi. Dont know if I'll make that or not or if the pistons will hold up. Lemme know what you guys think so far. fing02.gif
*sorry I dont have pics of everything, if the pics are bad, blame my cell phone. lol

12psi should be good with a good tune. Add a wideband to your list if you dont have one. This will allow you to monitor AFR and be able to street tune it yourself. Tuning is VERY easy with the MS, good choice. Look forward to seeing how this goes. PM me if you need anything further.

Well every piston in your motor has it in the same spot and you noticed someone else's did too. I'd have to say its a casting mark. Do i know for sure? No
