pat, it's in the list of things to do but i'm currently short on funds lol. i originally got it for aesthetic purposes (that's why i did hood, roof and trunk) then after a while, got really itchy for the real thing haha!

i still would want the hood, roof and trunk made of CF but i dunno how to go about the roof part.. trunk and hood would be basic (and mighty expensive i think)

Hoods are actually relatively cheap here in the states. Shipping to you, I'm not so sure about?

Carbon Fiber hatches have yet to be made, but I do have a contact in Los Angeles that is just waiting for me to go out there with an OEM hatch so he can make a mold and get them into production for the RD1s. Don't know if and when I'll ever get around to that. . .

The roof, you'll probably have to live with a wrap..

update! Old pix for my audio build.

Very humble build, straight JBL. i still feel the need to improve my separates but it gets the job done for now. I'm still working on the "go" part then i'll probably come back to improving its ICE.

I'll also be opting for a more lightweight setup. the MDF box is too damned heavy.

purchased setup / components:

MDF Ported box + Trunk layout

JBL GT5 S12 subwoofer

JBL GTO 3501

JBL GTO 1004

existing coaxials and separates before the amps and sub:

JBL GT5 650C

JBL GT5 963

pictures~!

free sticker from the shop! hehe.. would probably take it out sometime but i still like the way it looks.

uT4sI.jpg

hidden JBL 3501 amp behind the back seat of the car. the 3501 amp didnt fit the front layout so we opted for a stealth / hidden look

different angle to also include a glimpse of the S12 sub. love the blue lights. pity that they're not seen from the outside.

FvANxl.jpg

different angle again. more on the amps this time.

this is what it looks like when you open the trunk. JBL 1004 amp. im really loving the soft glow of the lights.

one more pic..

LED lights on. visible from outside the car due to the big-ass hatch. sorry for the crap photo

hi guys,

some minor updates..

1) finally got my I/H/E system completed. last portion of the system installed was the 2.25" exhaust catback. pity i couldnt find any shop that could mandrel bend the pipes. i had it crush-bent. bending was clean and smooth though so no complaints about that. really happy with the result! car really pulls and accelerates faster than when i only had intake and headers thanks to all the guys that helped me out with the technical stuff. i remember specifically talking to turbosocks no pictures of the pipes lol

2) brakes overhaul. had to overhaul my brakes coz they were already worn out. changed calipers and re-faced the rotors. i also had to change the rear break pistons. it unexpectedly cost me a LOT of money and set me back quite a bit with the other plans i have but it's all good. at least i know that i'm safe with my new brakes. no pictures also hehe.

3) steering wheel foam was slowly disintegrating so i had to change my steering wheel. couldnt find any stock ones here in the philippines so opted to go for the aftermarket ones. pretty happy with how it fits with the car. has pics

4) had my sparkplug cover painted to candy red. looks slick hehe. also had my dashboard and other plastic bits repainted to matte black. also happy with the results. no more shany and cheap looking plastic in the car! also has pics

candy red spark plug cover..

really matches the red/blue theme going on in the engine bay i think. i'll try to get the belt cover painted next.

Jh0QQl.jpg

probably my favorite engine bay picture to date..

l51k7l.jpg

MOMO aftermarket steering wheel. i really like the brush metal finish. goes well with my pedals.

last picture..

i also had to do some replace my crankshaft position sensor, high tension wires and ignition coil in my quest to fix the hard starting problem when warm. sadly, it isn't fixed yet. i'm still looking at the camshaft position sensor to be the next item to be replaced. also had to replace the left front wheel coz someone (not me, i dunno who but someone from my household) ran the tire into a gutter. sucks for me. overall, the above repairs and the brak overhaul really burned a hole into my wallet.

most of my original plans for 2011 isn't really pushing through coz of the previous month's expenses (repairs and replacements). also, i'm no longer going to work on performance upgrades (maybe, for the year at least). i'm plenty satisfied with the final gains my catback gave me and any more added torque and HP will probably be useless here in the streets of the Philippines.. i'm not boosted but i really like how the car drives right now. i'm now thinking of dressing up the car since i'm already happy with the performance. but that could change after i add more weight to the car haha.

i hope to get the following by the end of 2011:

1) second hand lambo door kit (found one in the philippines! could be rice but it's something i want to have a go at)

2) front and rear strut bars. will probably have this sorted by the end of the week.

3) maybe a custom bodykit.

here's to hoping i still have time and money for the 3 plans for 2011 haha!

Hey pare,

Welcome to the site and nice to see another Pinoy in here especially with a Tiburon in the Philippines... I heard it is really very rare over there. I knew of another fella here from over there as well with a white turbocharged tib, believe its 41willys but he hasn't been on for a long while.

I like your car, its nice and clean!! I would like to see it personally when I decide to visit the homeland

btw, check out my car (and my other car work) and "LIKE" my facebook page:
