Looking at these photos makes me miss the Wagon. Looks very nice. And you've got the aluminum pedal set and Tiburon shift knob.
I'm going to buy another one someday when I'm done with the Tiburon

You really cleaned out that engine bay. Looks great! I take it you dont drive very often when its raining hard out, right? That filter sits low and by itself. I'd be afraid of hydrolock.

Thanks. You can see in the second picture, the filter is about six inches off the ground, about the same as most RD intakes. I haven't had any problems, although when it rains really hard I put the filter at the end of the maf sensor.

Had to make room for the Touring man. I sold the Elantra for $1000.00, unfortunately. Brand new everything. Battery, tires, brakes, valve cover cleaned spick n' span, new transmission...etc. It could go for another 200,000mi. The Touring SE is different, but nothing short of great actually. Same Beta engine. The wagon's trunk is longer but rear is cramped, but the Touring moved the rear seats farther back thus it's less trunk space but more comfort for rear passengers.
I prefer the old Elantra designs in fact I love them as much as I love my Tiburon, but the Touring is just a better car in almost every way. You got a sunroof, heated seats, projectors...etc.

That makes sense. Yeah most cars are better than J2's in almost every way. Not exactly refined, smooth or quiet. But they're cheap, somewhat reliable and easy to work on. This was my first car, I've had it for over five years. And don't plan on getting rid of it.

I'm so glad to hear that i made a mistake of getting rid of my dad's Elantra. Def. going to pick up another one when I come back to the U.S.
Every new car is better, without question but you can't really compare old cars. The J2 was a fantastic car in its time. I love the design much better than any new car. I miss compact cars of the 90's. They don't make them like that anymore.
I almost bought a Wagon here in Poland a few months ago but it was sold after the owner had stated he'd keep it for me for a week while I was working
