Well, after seeing Patreezy's mirrors at NOPI, I decided to get me a new set of mirros. These are the G2 M3 mirrors. Now, I think they look pretty damn sweet, BUT, they had fitment issues AND electrical issues. Like the very smart person that I am, I decided to spend the money and time painting them before I test fit and tested the electrical stuff. Luckily, I did manage to get everything working.

The blinker lights come with yellow and Blue lights, but I am just using the yellows. They are meant to be side marker lights and the blues are meant for blinkers. The yellow LED's are not very bright so I opened them up and added some tin-foil and also etched the outside of the LED. this made them about 2.5 times brighter and very suitable to be used as turn signal lights. I also had to resolder some of the connections for the LED's because they were loose. Oh yeah, did I mention all the directions where in Chinese!!!!

The next thing that kind of sucks in that the wiring, no matter how you do it, will be reversed in some way from the direction that your powermirror switch says. The best I could get was up/down being correctly oriented with the switch but L/R is not. Oh well, not a huge deal, but still annoying.

The mirrors are TINY compared to OEM. So, I also had to get two blindspot round mirrors to help aid in seeing. Again, not a complete downfall, but not the greatest.

So, in conclusion, I LOVE the look and the added safety of the side blinkers. I do not like how the item had no instructions, the wiring was impossible, and how the mirrors are so tiny that I had to buy round mirrors to compensate for there lack of quality. It's definately a strange feeling. I spent so long painting and getting them in, that its a let down to have the small problems eat at me. I suppose I am 50/50. 50% happy with the install, 50% disappointed in the lack of quality.

Anyways, here are the pics of my work. let me know what you think!

They stick out a bit more. I'm not sure. I would have to see them in person.

If you would of painted them black to match your tint, I think they would of looked better and blended in nicely. JMO. fing02.gif

tanc- Well, my stockers were white, and the FX models are all painted to match, so I went with white. I LOVE how they look, it was the other problems that I had that's been eatin at me.

looks great, but im assuming you lost power mirrors with this.

^ Did you even read his post?

Anyway, I reckon they look pretty cool. They look a tad whiter than the rest of your car though or maybe that's just me...

I only just noticed the silver "pinstripe" following the curves on your hood too... Is that something you did or did the car come like that?

tibbytib Apr 18, 2006 12:55 AM

Nope, they are power mirrors, the only thing thats a b**** is the fact that the wiring is backwards from the mirror switch. I tried for 30 min with every possible combination. So, my up and downs are correct, but my left and right on both sides is opposite of the switch.

OzFxCoupe- I did the pinstripping. Wanted to do something different and had the stuff lying around the garage. Got creative one day and decided to pinstrip the hood. Here's a better pic of the hood.

I have the same mirrors, also painted in my cars color. I think they look great on your car! I have the exactly same electrical issues as you. Best I could do was that up/down was correct, and l/r is reversed. I have no idea of what this could be. I also did not install the blue lights.

This is probably a stupid question, but Ive seen these on ebay too and was wondering if there would be any fitment issues with putting these on a tib without power mirrors. i looked for a set (this specific model) on ebay that werent power but all of the ones that came up were powered. Sorry for being offtopic.gif

Oh, and by the way, I also had to drill new holes to get these to fit properly. The auction says 91-96 Tiburons, I dont know why. They do fit, but you must be patient with them. fing02.gif
