in my ongoing "mod a week" ritual, i decided to do this since they were badly curb rashed from the 16 year old kid that owned my car first.

got all the rims sandblasted at a stone sign company my friend owns. charged me 20 bucks to blast them. basically i paid for two 9lb. bands of blast media.

closeup of sandblasted rim, they were silver in the beginning.

this is what i used to paint them. nothing new to anyone that has been around for awhile in here but for the n0obs this will show you how well this can turn out if the prep is done right. color is flat black.

all four finished with two coats on the front. it took 3 cans total. did the back of the rims in good ole rustoleum flat black just to save a bit on the price plus didnt care about the look on the back anyways.

pic of them installed, sorry for them being displayed on jackstands.

for right around 50 bucks I got rims that look a ton better and i think gives the car a better look. watcha guys think?

doing a two tone in the end. kinda like pat's RD1 but with lighter shades, somewhat. gonna add some CF overlays in certain places but tasteful, yet subtle.

i still have at least 70% of the parts still in the house but the "mod a week" thing is getting them on quite quickly.

these are definitely not staying on my car, will be my winter set. the damn things weigh 26lbs. per rim, but the curbrash has bugged the hell out of me ever since i bought the car.

mods tonight, when it cools down. install pulley set and make a template from my red tib so i can install my type-r wing on my silver tib. it will be nice when i get these parts out of my apartment and actually on my car, lol.

The stock spoiler on the 00, 01 is the type R. there are 2 that came on those years, the type R whic has pods on te ends, and the other one which is straight in the middle and bends downwards on the outside.
