Well it has been a while but here is an update.
Glass went all smashy smashy.
IMG_20130317_143256_811.jpg
Did some cage work.
IMG_20130303_133951_052.jpg
Taped the cage all up and prepped for paint.
IMG_20130317_183949_860.jpg
Painted the cage.
IMG_20130317_193050_106.jpg
My neighbor gave us a piece of scrap lexan to make a windshield. Note do NOT EVER use a circular saw to cut lexan. It doesn't end well.

And here if final product with windshield in. Cage painted. Kill switches installed and a new center console welded in. Seat re-installed. 5 point harness installed.

And for the Lemons $500 budget we have spent less then $20. LOL. Free car. Free help getting the frame straight. Inner tie rod is all we had to purchase to make it good. That leaves us roughly $480 to put into the motor, trans, suspension, and cooling.
Would like to autocross the car as a way to test it out.

Holy Cow I haven't updated this since March. Well here is an update.
Found this guy in the junkyard.

So we took everything we needed to change into a Manual transmission. Total cost was under $300. For EVERYTHING.
Then we had to install the damn thing.

So it turns out you are supposed to have a special motor mount to connect from the frame to the trans. Well we didn't have one. So we made one. That's right Made our own motor mount. Suck it.
IMG_20130423_171358_678.jpg
Then we filled the remaining mounts to make everything more solid. Best $10 ever.

Now our interior has this cool removable steering wheel and a manual shifter. We also have the auto shifter attached to our metal dash thing. That is the random bolt thing. Starting sequence is. Kill switch 1, Kill switch 2, fuel pump switch, auto in park or neutral, 5 speed in neutral. Turn key. No need for clutch. LOL.

Now we are rebuilding the cage and some other details I have missed along the way. Our costume is going on at the moment. I have about 2 weeks at this point. Weighed the car at 2100 lbs with the cage. 1320 lbs on the front and 780 lbs on the back tires. That is with the 150 lbs or so added from the cage.

Sorry it was so long between posts. I have been crazy busy. I will try to keep you guys up to date. I have videos of me autocrossing it last weekend. Will try to get that on Youtube for you all. Hope you enjoy.

Had a lot of fun with this thing. I will admit that. Did some painting and more wrapping tonight.
It won't let me upload new photos. I will work on it tomorrow.
