Hi All,

Well, here is my first posting in the showroom to show my car. The work on it has been a cumulation over the years; I work on it on my spare time and here and there.

Finally, I have it where I would like it to be. Feel free to visit my CarDomain site for all the pics. Stuff like interior lighting, racing seats, and tips. Let me know what you think here or on CD.

Thanks!

Do you have any engine mods? All I see on your site is exterior and interior mods...

You should get a stock bumper to, or a different aftermarket one(why? because the one you have now looks like crap on a tib)

Are you really done? If so...ok... If not, have fun continuing the work on your car smile.gif

hey nice tib man! i totally agree that it's korea's first popular commercial sports car and it might become a classic. if you think about it, tiburons excelled beetles (ok, not a good comparison, but wait 'till you hear me out)

beetles have been around roughly for about 60 years, 40 if you count the commercial ones. the first ones were used during WW2 but had evolved to become standard automobiles in the 1960's and became widely customized and personalized cars of the 70's. the beetle appealed to just about every young person, coming in different personal options. their design outlasted generations and the cars ran for hundreds of miles. how is that for history? that's good history. remember, i'm talking about the classic beetle.

now look at the new beetle. it's cr*p. they all look the same. nobody wants to drive one. you cannot get personalized options except for a flower on the anntena or some sh*t like that. they're really not all that popular and they certainly do not appeal to the younger generation. the beetle has failed to pass on its appealing history.

now, look at the tiburon. the bodyshell is the strongest in its class. it appeals to everyone. although it may not be popular, just about every tiburon you see is customized one way or another. looks never get old. the engines run for over 150k -200k+ miles, even when taken a serious beating. their owners love their cars. sound familiar? in my eyes, i think the tiburon has continued what the new beetle could not. even the GK 2003+ tiburons have taken this path. take for example the red stitching, or the "tuscani" version, or the "special edition" version. there are countless personal options. when i look at new tiburons, i don't really mind how much it doesn't look like my RD1 anymore, because i am aware that even new tiburons are continuing this sensational process.

even though it's difficult to find parts for our cars, that goes to our advantage. crooks will not want anything to do with our cars because they will have just as much trouble selling them as we did obtaining them. now, take a mustang, celica, or eclipse for example. the same statement could not be said. point made.

i do not see any tiburons on the roads for months at a time and i love it. i still get people complimenting my car to this day. just about everytime at the gas station. i love the name of our car and i believe our cars will be strong even without the sales. did you know 50% of global sales of ALL 1996-1999 Hyundais were Tiburons?

now your car. i love what you did with it, however, i do have to agree with MK3. it's difficult to find good kits let alone bumpers by themselves for our cars. i would go with Kspec's bodykit group buy. They are going to have some nice bodykits around. other than that, i like the rims and the overall look of the car. the rack reminds me of the one from the HCD 3.

Thanks for your posts. That beetle history was interesting. I do agree, i think the only thing customizable is the damn flower on the dash.

As for engine mods to my car, I havn't played around with that yet. I do want new headers, and exhaust, but that is for a future project i suppose. The CAI I have is made by OTTOR .. at www.alfaotto.com .

The bumper is starting to show its age.. that invader bumper I got a while back and is popular with other makes and models as well, especially with the hondas. That is something I can change if I want to change the look of the car when I'm bored with it (or when I get the money smile.gif ) .

Other than that, i hope my engine does last me 200k+, but either way, replacement engines for these tibbys are so inexpensive, it's nice.

Thanks..

-Randy

bah! she's not done.

..where's her side skirts? Such a "flamboyant" front bumper as the imitation veilside cannot be left to flow into the stock body lines. They don't "line up." Now your front bumper stands out even more than if it was a complete imitation body kit. Good work so far, I see looks is your thing...but she's NOT done. They're never done. Get er done!

I see your a surfer, right on! I thougt I was the only one on this site.
