Gated Shifter....
So I've been toying with making my own gated shifter. I may end up trying to sell some if enough folks are interested and if I have the time to make them. Let me know what you think!
Its a clear plastic right now. May keep it like this and throw some LEDs under it! Or.....I may look into having a friend put it into Cad and having a few cut from aluminum.

I am interested!
Although it doesnt look like a real Gated Shifter, and of course wouldnt ever feel like one, still looks about 1000000 times better than a shifter boot!!
Good Job on the build up...

You have a keen eye my friend! I REALLY tried hard to make a FUNCTIONAL gated shifter, but its nearly impossible for our cars. If the tranny sat right under the shifter, then yeah, it would be no problem. But the cable system just makes it too sloppy, no matter how well you tighten up the shift throws. Sooo.......I decided to stick with a "cosmetically" appealing gated shifter! I really like the aesthetic improvement over the boot, and honestly, still gives the "feeling" that you shifting into gates! At least it does to me, and thats who matters in my car!
Thanks for the compliment man! I will let you know if I make a few of these for the community.

Looks Great!, I wonder If an aluminum one would help me NOT miss third at the dragstrip?...probably could'nt quick shift with it,as you said,we have a sloppy cable setup .,but still looks cool.

I'm in if the price is good. Having access to CNC's, presses or lasers when paired with autocadd is awesome.
I agree with Regit may help me stop missing third. Damn you third gear.

That looks so cool and it's so creative!!! It looks like the ones that come on a Ferrari.
How do you keep dirt from getting in there?

Got the idea from playing a race simulation called F355 Challenge at the local Dave and Busters.
To keep dirt and things out, I cut a piece of black carpet and a small hole in the center for the shifter to go through. The carpet sits under the shift gate. Still have to be careful to not let change or other things fall in there. If they do, I just pop off the shift cover and fish it out. Havent had an issue with it since I've had it on there.
Thanks for all the compliments folks!
