I have had experience with these before and there really nice.. u can set 2 different boost levels and at the flip of a switch u can go hi or low boost depending on what u have em set at..
http://www.postimg.com/pics/boostcontroller.jpg its a turbo XS manual dual stage controller.. bought it from boost parts on ebay.. they are awesome and fast shipping.. |
nice, thats sweet. loose one race, change the setting and shock them!
how much did that cost you? |
I'm getting that one too (the HP one, don't know if you got that one); I'll probably be wiring it so the high boost setting is on whenever it reaches a pre-set RPM (throug the SMT6), or maybe with a switch on the 2nd or 3rd gear. It's pretty useless to boost in 1st gear; all you do is burn tires. Having it by RPM is nice too; if you just want to cruise, you just drive normally, and set your wastegate at a VERY low boost (like 2-4 if possible). Whenever you want the power, you just floor it.

dont have it by rpm then. have it turn on by WOT, or something close.

Why did you opt for a manual controller over an electronic? Just personal preference?
|
I would wire it with a magnetic switch so you have low boost in first.. like was said, lots of boost in that gear just equals more wheelspin. If it was me, I might even wire it for low boost in first and second..

I have really like my Apexi AVC-R boost contoller, you can have gear specific boost control and you can switch boost settings with a few button pushes.

about a month ago i was searching for wastegate controlers to hook up to full standalone systems and i saw a stepper motor controlled wastegate. You can set any boost level through the laptop from like 5-30psi....i dont really know too much about the stepper motor controlled wastegates...anyone ever seen one, know of any good ones, have a link to one?
