I just installed angel eyes today.
Here is a picture of the kit I put together. (not pictured: 30awg wire to hold the LEDs in place and 2 zip ties)
Alli.s007 helped
Here's the final pix:
They will be brighter tomorrow after I remove the extra 100 ohm load resistor I put in the circuit to make the LEDs last longer. It's not needed though and they will still last longer then the car without the extra 100 ohms and be about 2x brighter then they are currently.

I'm curious to see how they stand up to the HID's. One of my Flyrydes angel eyes melted when I put XENON bulbs in.
I have to give it to you though, they do look really good!

^^ Tell me how the FlyRyde angel eyes mounted. Were they mounted at 3 points and also secured by the LEDs? That worries me. I never bothered taking temperature readings while running my HIDs. I've got a IR thermometer for doing so. I'd hope the internal temperatures of the headlamp housing do not exceed 200F degrees. I must remember to test that for a few hours tomorrow. Maybe I'll leave my car running while I'm at work.

I thought HID's run cooler than even stock. Its those "HID" style look-a-like wannabe HID bulbs that use twice the wattage that get really really hot. By the way the angle eyes look sweet. good job man!

Ugh, this came up in the other thread too.
HIDs RUN COOLER THEN STOCK HEADLIGHTS.
Xenon bulbs, or any other 'super bright bulb' will run super hot, because it's just pulling more current through a standard bulb. HID's run cooler though, so they're not going to melt.

ug... I hate SR's angel eyes. They're loaded with bright spots all over because they actually drill the LEDs into the back side of the angel eye. It's not even an angel eye anymore. It's kinda like a cheap SMT LED ring but with 3mm LEDs instead of SMT and no circuitboard. I just don't like the SR look. I'd rather get SMT rings then SR Angel eyes.

It's still worthy of a test while he is in the R&D stage. If the housing does not get too hot then he is good to go. I can't remember what bulbs I had when mine melted. I noticed it about 6 months after they were installed. For all I know it could have been the Florida heat.
