Overnight some more parts from the UK and swap to RHD.

That sucks about the chrome trim ring. Can you "adjust" or maybe "massage" it at all to fit? It actually looks very similar to an aftermarket trim ring I got for my tib...

After looking at yours and mine, I can see the problem. Its probably the plastic surround that wont line up. IMO, since this is a conversion anyway, either get a another plastic shift surround or use yours, remove the chrome from the OE F2 surround and install the chrome ring on yours that fits.

Both the shift surround and the trim ring have RHD dependent shapes.

Well, ran into a bit of bad news. Just like the arm rest, the shifter surround is also for RHD. The shift boot fit ok, but the chrome trim ring will not fit.
I can feel a r/h drive conversion coming on

May be cheaper to import the real deal!

I just got done restoring my headlamps. I plan to coat them using the 50/50 Helmsman Spar finish and mineral spirits method.

I've got the glass lens. I'll sell them to ya for cheaper. I just got my hands on a second set over here. Shoot me a price and I'll send them from Poland. They look like they just came out of the assembly man no matter how old or how long in the sun. They need a good owner

For the shift surround, just sand it down to fit. Use fiberglass jelly if necessary. I sprayed mine with Painter's Touch (color near identical). My RD2 surround with RD1 console.

I was supposed to fly to the States a second time but I got sick so I couldn't grab the gaiters/armrest lid.

Sounds awesome.

I'm not sure I'm following you. No matter how I match up the trim ring to the LHD base, it'll look odd.

Here's the ring. It has a different curve radius on every corner.

Great I'll get them ready tonight bro. PM me a price.

Aw no kidding. No way to bend the ring somehow? There's got to be a solution. Either that or send it somewhere and have it copied the right way.

It seems like a very thin and brittle aluminum with a chrome paint over it that flakes. I wouldn't dare try to bend it even with careful heating. I'll probably have to have it copied somehow. I could even draw it up in cad.

Wish there was more interest in this stuff or I'd be very excited about doing it.

My wheels are scheduled to be here Friday! But, that means I'll need to buy a whole new set of tires. Kind of ran out of spending money this month with all these "little" purchases.
