GenSport Carolinas was started last year with a primary goal of creating opportunities for owners to network socially and explore performance driving environments both competitive and simply for fun.



The Tail of The Dragon is one of North America's most well-known motorcycle and sports car roads. This stretch of highway contains 318 turns in just over 11 miles with no cross-streets. Thousands of drivers come from all over North America and beyond to drive this road every year. The road is covered with professional photographers and nice rides.



On April 5th - 8th, we'll have our 2nd Annual Spring Run of The Dragon and would love for each of you to join us. We're all staying at Fontana Village which is nicely located at the start of Hellbender (another nice road) that takes us to The Dragon. We are currently finalizing a group rate for rooms in the Fontana Lodge as well as 2 and 3 bedroom cabins. Group rate info will be posted within the next week. Tail of the Dragon



Last Spring's run was a great success and the fall run turned out even better. SFR and Kouki Motorsports were able to join us for the fall run where they provided the SFR tune for 2.0s and 3.8s. We are excited to invite SFR and Kouki back for the Spring run and we hope that they will be able to offer the fantastic tune that so many members enjoy. We are reaching out to additional Gencoupe vendors and will keep everyone posted if additional vendors will be able to participate.



We had people come from all corners east of the Mississppi, Florida, Carolinas, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Texas, New Jersey and probably some others as well. We have already seen increased interest from the "yankees" up in the mid-Atlantic area and hope that we can get some more participation from our friends in the north.



SFR Reflash Information:

Just got confirmation that SFR will be joining us again this trip and will be offering re-flashes for the 3.8 and 2.0. Jay also mentioned that he would like to bring the demo car to the fall run. We are excited to welcome SFR back to the event.



Jay will be able to offer a group rate if 8 or more people are interested in getting the tune. This is a great opportunity to get a great flash. Most of the Gensport members with 3.8s got the tune in the fall and the difference is night and day.



Please respond to this post or on the thread on gencoupe of Hyundai aftermarket if you are interested. We will start a running list to keep everyone updated and try to hit the 8 needed for the group rate.



Lodging Group Rate Now Available:

We have confirmation that Fontana has received the contract for our event. You may now begin to call to make reservations for the event.



To make a room reservation, contact Fontana Village resort at 800-849-2258. Group reservations cannot be made online.

A few things to note:

• Make sure to mention that you are part of the "Gen Coupe" group when calling to make reservations
  
• The deadline to reserve a room under the group rate is 3/5/2012
  
• Reservations require the first night to be paid in full at the time the reservation is made
  
• The remainder of the balance will be due at checkout
  
• A military discount of 10% is available but cannot be added on top of the group rates
  
• Most cabins have various couches and some have sofa beds. We encourage people to bunk up to split the cost of the cabin.

For those who aren't familiar with the Tail of the Dragon, it's a mountain road 11 miles in length with 318 turns. Last year we took a day and drove the Cherohala Skyway, as high as 5,300 feet for amazing mountain views. We had over 40 Genesis Coupes at the event last October and would love to have some Velosters, Tiburons, and other models join up with us this year.



It's located at Fontana Dam, North Carolina, for anyone wanting to use Google Maps. It's literally about a mile from the Tennessee / North Carolina border.
