Honestly, how lazy are you guys to not go look at NOPI's site to find out?

Go read there.
It's all cancelled.

Kinda like me....driving all the way from Toronto, and buying a bunch of new stuff specifically to both MAKE the trip there, as well as try and get a repeat or better this year. Not to mention I'm frickin' single so I can hit all the parties that the PASmag guys set up on the way down....

lazy? i had no need to look at nopis site.
i was just posting a response to the news.
not like i was gonna go to any of the events, but its pretty nuts that the biggest car show in the USA is actually canceled.
im sure they generate a TON of money from that show too, wonder if NOPI will tank from this.

I said "YOU GUYS".
if you aren't 100% sure about something, just do the research for 5 seconds. Capn and Rix both posted that they weren't sure about it, one in the shoutbox, and one here.
It's just a point.
Kinda gets me sad, I love Nopi shows, and since i said I wouldn't make any this year, they cancelled them all.
OH!
THAT'S WHY! BECAUSE I CANNOT COME!!

^^ I didn't even know until I read your post and then checked the link. Thats when I replied. I definitely would have gone to the source if I saw it posted anywhere else...but you gave us the link.

^^ I don't know if they'll "tank" from this. Obviously they realised there was a lack of money coming in from EVERYTHING. They must be having an extremely difficult time, but smart enough to not TRY and run the events to the point where its costing them way more than they're bringing in. Its a smart move on their part. I just hope that people don't bail on them if they come back strong next year.
Gas is expensive, people don't want to make the trips, or have more important things to worry about, like paying their mortgage. Huge performance upgrades for some people are just completely out of the question. Everything is starting to be about who gets the better gas mileage.

ive actually never been to a nopi show, and kinda wanted to check one out this year too.
i actually was contemplating checking out nationals just to look around and stuff.
something of this scale, even though im sure it costs a TON to put on the event, seems like it would be very profitable for NOPI and ATL with all the tourists for the show and hype of the show.
i know they put it on as tradition and all, but it seems like they would lose more as a whole NOT putting on the show, than putting on the show.

everything is just gonna get worse next year as far as gas goes. gas has been going up and up and up. prices of groceries keep going up, and i doubt either of the two will ever go DOWN.
and if things start to be all hybrid savvy and everyone is driving smart cars, there wont be a place for a company like NOPI.

I thought the same thing. I'm sure that if they could cancel all the local events, and just hold Nationals, they would have done that.
When I was in Erie, there weren't a lot of people there. The weather wasn't all the cooperative, until it was too late, plus there just weren't enough cars. The Top 10, that they gave each winner $300 were some of the worst cars I've seen. When they got down to the last 2 Top 10 awards, I seriously thought I had a chance...
