Let me know if you decide to do Norfolk on Nov. 15, I'd love to check it out.

Andy you have no idea how happy I am to see the success you are having with the Accent and the success you personally are having as a driver. Paxing in the top ten in this area is no small feat, especially in a car with blown shocks and no LSD in FSP. Sorry I'm not around to codrive or help at all, but looks like you're doing just fine without. laugh.gif

So... are you going to Lincoln? banana.gif

no national events for me just yet
i'm content hanging around the local stuff for now
if you do get a free sunday off and your in the area give me a call

the suspension is my main concern on the to-do list but i have to get some maintenance stuff out of the way first. The right rear wheel bearing was bad when I swapped everyting over from the lc so that needs replaced. My radiator fan took a SH*T on me saturday and I found out today that one of my alternator bolts is broken so I need to fix that this week before the next cumberland event sunday. Little things keep piling up so the suspension will have to wait. Making it to all the events I have scheduled is keeping me and the car busy but we're both taking it in stride.

I will update my last 3 events whenever I get the results from this weekend. I won fsp again last sunday at fedex and did pretty well at both my events this weekend.

I have some new pics and videos from all 3 events so just keep waiting.

time for another update

I have been pretty busy the last couple of weeks. Since the 4th of july i've had races every weekend and will have races almost every weekend until the end of sept.

On the 12th I was down at fedex field again for the 3rd championship event with wdcr-scca.

My hopes were high since I was coming off a win at my last event in pa. I would be in a class of 5 drivers in fsp. Pat griffin was back in his sentra ser that beat me in the warmup at the beginning of the year and marshall cone was co-driving andrew baker's scirocco. I was going to have my hands full.

I did a little more trimming of the front fenders to make room for the 255s and I was trying to get my blowby from the last event squared away.

The good news is I don't have any more rubbing issues, the bad part was I was smoking like a sonofabitch under hard turns. The blowby issue wasn't fixed. The car still ran good and didn't blow up which is always a plus.

The course was a fun one like always with a lot of sweepers and it was fast. I had to upshift to 3rd to get the most out of my run. I will let the video of my quickest run explain the course better.

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/z1gXywm5560&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/z1gXywm5560&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/z1gXywm5560&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/z1gXywm5560&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

here's how my day went:

1st run: 55.243
running out of gear in the top portion of the course, I might have to shift to 3rd

2nd run: 55.252
I tried a shift to 3rd and it bogged but I lost some time somewhere else besides

3rd run: 54.517
I didn't know this was my quickest run until I saw the results because the timing board started screwing up. I knew I had the lead going into my last run but I didn't know how much.

4th run: 73.057-dnf
well I was worried about laying down a quick time and pulled a very bone-head move and went off course at the first turn. i gave up right away and cruised around course. I guess you could consider this my victory lap.

the day went very well for me besides laying down james bond style smoke screens after every long turn. I ended up winning fsp by over a second and I was 44th out of 233 on pax. Both are very good results for me.

here are some new pics of the new(used) motor and some of the updated fender trimming

here's a couple action shots thanks again to danny kao for the pics

Regarding the smoking... you might not remember this, but I ended up putting a brass t-valve in my PCV line. What found was happening was on hard right corners, oil was being forced to the left side of the head and would get sucked into the PCV, causing a spyhunter type smoke screen. I left the valve open for daily driving, but for autocrosses I shut the valve closed and voila, no more smoking. Ever. Only had the issue on hoosiers because they were the only tires I ran on that high enough grip to do that. Paul tried to run a catch can on the car instead, but was getting a SH*T ton of oil in it between runs. Like nearly a quart per run on some of the harder turning courses. Dont remember exactly, but I think it was more of an issue at FedEx than Cumberland (more grip, faster course, etc.) for both of us.

Vid looks good. Feels like you gave up a bunch of time in the slalom where you were banging off the limiter, but its hard to tell because that part of the lot can be tricky with grip, especially off line. Its also a bitch to shift into third while turning up hill into a slalom lol. Might be time to start looking into a higher rev limit. ECU hack, going standalone, or going carb'd+megaspark were the options I was considering, though thinking about it I know KORE managed to make the Alpha ECU run a Beta swap car and I think the Beta ECU's have a higher rev limit and I think some of them had the same plug (damn if I remember which year(s) now though), so you might be able to just swap it or something. Or, if you can ever find a LSD for it (I want to say Kspec had one or could find one), go with a steeper final drive while you're in there and just drive the damn thing in 2nd and 3rd.

i've been procrastinating here lately and haven't been able to put any updates up so i'm going to just throw my results up with some pics and videos from all the events i've attended in the last month.

first up was a new venue for me at summit point. Its called the washington circuit and was built as a triple skidpad and is used for autocrossing and drifting. To put it nicely, the surface sucks. It was not graded properly and they used a slick coating in the asphalt for the drifting guys so its very slippery around the pads.

I did well at this event taking 3rd out of 80 couple cars and I won cdc's small bore class that day. here are 2 vids and some pics enjoy.

next up was an event at park city mall in lancaster pa with the susquehanna region scca. It was another good day and a good end to a weekend of racing. I placed 1st in fsp and came in 8th overall out of 104 drivers and 7th in pax. here is a pic and a video of my fastest run of the day. enjoy.
